Levelish summit with large covered reservoirs either side of Gill Bank road. The ground beside the personnel gate on NW side of road seems as good a high point as any.RichardM27/12/2020

From Chatterley Whitfield park. Fairly direct via Monks Neil park and the pitts hill roundabout. A dreary top which although more natural than the 3 spoil heaps it falls below the standard of these earlier tops.stig_nest14/03/2017
After an afternoon of GOML experiences nice to have a nice simple reservoir that didn't talk to me!!vegibagger22/12/2016
The shortest of visits on the shortest of days. Detour for The Stoke Five on the long drive from Southport to Sussex. Through this hill passes the two famous Harecastle canal tunnels -dug for moving coal to the Potteries. The first engineered by Brindley in 1777 was only 9 feet wide -needing legging -the horses went over the top along logically named Boathorse Lane. Telford built the wider tunnel in 1827 with a towpath to speed up the coal. This is still in use today with doors on the tunnel entrance to cause a suction draught to help ventilation.Chris Pearson21/12/2016
Goldenhill a good easy start to the day.Dugswell219/10/2016
