Parked besides Harthill church and took ROW around western side of hill. This leads onto an overgrown track in the woodland. Once SW of the summit it became a mass of bracken and bramble so I popped into the adjacent field and aimed for the top from the S. Slightly easier. A great corkscrew tree at the summit.summitter02/09/2023
10:00, 14 degrees, sunny spells. Locked broken gate route.Wycombe Wanderer25/10/2022
From Harthill church.PGCE19/11/2021
Lanes from Round Hiill minimising contact with Broxton’s two busy roads. Up from the church and stables as in other accounts. Bracken awkward near the summit. Not difficult though.fasgadh15/06/2021
As others, easy parking alongside the churchyard wall at SJ 5009 5528 - SW along RoW & easily over the padlocked broken gate - Up track to within 150m of the top & then picked out a few bits of path though the masses of dead bracken to summit knoll by dead twisted tree. (S)gerrybowes03/12/2020
Parked at the church and headed SW to a broken gate on the left. Followed the track and then doubled back, eventually through brambles and dead bracken to the obvious top which almost overlooks the church. Solo.bolton17/11/2020
From the Church. As intimated by Skip the bracken has to be fought at this time of year.summitsup23/06/2020
Met Lindsey at Broxton roundabout picnic area for a sunny day out in Cheshire. After Larkton Hill, drove to Harthill and parked beside the church. Walked through the farm and along the ROW then through a gate, up to the ridge, turned back to the summit. A lot of vigorous bracken made progress slow. Back to cars then walked up Raw Head.Skip21/06/2020
Good parking alongside the church in Harthill Village. Follow the signposted track through the farm for about 300m. Cross a rickety gate on your left and continue along a developing track through the woods upwards and turn back to the summit once it reaches the ridge.moorsman06/03/2020
Slight detour through woods and bracken (fortunately now brown and flattened), off a circular walk from the car park SW of Larkton Hill. Continued on to Raw Head.LizH14/11/2019
Made a quick dash for this one after Raw Head. Parked by church, followed RoW SW until a gate with the top bar missing appeared, then straight up a bank to a track which led to a clearing where the bracken had died back. HP by a twisted tree. Up and down in 12 minutes.Wheelsy20/01/2019
Small brambled covered mound by oak and twisted tree in somewhat overgrown woodland accessed from nearby right of way. A pleasant place to enjoy a slice of Christmas cake as the sun set.Denise 13/01/2019
From track on W side of hill old gate in stone wall accesses track to summit. Has the feeling of an abadoned and long forgotten estate. Christmas cake and coffee in the departing rays of the low winter sun.RichardM13/01/2019
2/4 Funny place to follow a trail of cow muck - all the way to the summit! Checked out southerly top too, a bit nicer.tumpawumpa01/01/2019
Parked outside church. Footpath through farm yard then over small gate to follow track to summit. Solo.Dangerous Dave03/12/2018
From the church. Good tracks going up through dying bracken and some bramble. The craginess of this top isn't evident until at the top, due to dense vegetation.jonglew23/11/2018
From church on FP and then path uphill, becoming indistinct through bracken which had been cut back except at very top, but no problem.PeterD07/10/2018
From the church south on track beside wall, then branching left up side track, over slightly broken gate thawed curving back sharply left to go back north to the brackeny summit with a few bites of bramble to to catch an unwary badge leg.vegibagger08/09/2018

3rd of the day on a five Tump cycle from the Pony Club Championships at Cholmondeley Castle. After Round Hill. Lovely village on top of hill. Through farm gates next to church and along footpath. Then up L, on zig zag track to near summit, where more bracken and nettles are encountered.Minto18/08/2018
Parked at NT cp Allman's Lane then Larkton Hill, Rawhead, Bulkeley Hill, Peckforton Point and back via Hart Hill (a cracking little summit). Fine views and plenty of caves to explore, with Ed.John Eley20/02/2018

As per Clivevilla's excellent directions. Plenty of parking next to church on a Saturday.Campbell Singer30/12/2017
From the church go along the path through two gates and along a wall on your left to another gate where a path starts to climb and then doubles back to fairly close to the summit. From there it does look like there would be a bracken issue in season but none today.clivevilla30/11/2017
Parked by church. Initially easy but the upper reaches were a sea of 5ft bracken. God I hate bracken.stig_nest18/07/2017
Parked beside church and bagged its cut mark before a quick bag then off to the cooking school.Dugswell222/05/2017
Enjoyable circular walk from the top of Coppermines Lane-Harthill(same route as others along track through wood, but do beware of the deceased wire fence near the top)-Larkton Hill-Raw Head- on pleasant Spring day. With Catman,Oscar and Bonnie.rosiebridge23/04/2017

On a round mostly on the Sandstone Trail from HarthillJim.Fothergill31/03/2017
4th hill of 7 today on the 1st part, Ridley to Tilston, climbing Ridley Bank, Peckforton Point, Bulkeley Hill (2nd ascent) and then descended to a track, briefly on Sandstone trai, keeping West when it veers off for Raw Head, attractive fp through Bodnook wood, taking fp past skateboarding centre to Harthill, SE on minor road then climbed wall, over fallen trees and squeezed through Holly understorey to climb bracken slopes to reach summit. A similar height about 3 metres away. Descent Sw before dropping onto fp heading Sw then South to the A534. Next hill: Round hill.Dazingdale25/02/2017
Easy parking by church and quick up and down.Alan Caine27/12/2016
As Aye Jimmy. Wire nearly got me at summit.David Evans03/12/2016
Parked at church plenty of room.mart079729/02/2016
As RobertP, bracken dead at moment so easy. Summit on knoll by completely bark-less tree. Beware of wire lurking in the undergrowth to trip you up...Aye Jimmy10/01/2016
Route as others. Bit overgrown at top.ngthack09/08/2015
Parked at Church. Used good track doubling back from footpath heading SW. Vegetation fine at this time of year. Also visited ground in 160m contour a little to SW.RobertP01/02/2015
Larkton Hill, Hartill, Bulkeley Hill and Bickerton Hill Cold but Cleardentalchimp24/01/2015
Parked by the chuch, FP down lane to gate, easy walk up path then bracken thrash to top - pick your month! Looked for direct way down by Rhodis, gorse, brambles made me thing better and returned same way as up.nordicstar26/10/2014
SJ50049 55169. An approach from the footpath to the north is possible.JohnStoneham13/07/2014
