Logged Descriptions  (logged by 41 users)ByDate of Ascent
From the SW. Parked in wide entrance to RoW & along tracks to high point, visiting the alternative summit en-route; this lies a few metres W. of track - From summit a short walk across to high ground at edge of wood; may be as high or higher.gerrybowes27/01/2024
From Salt headed south, along FP into woods, along track with HP just off it. Went to couple of other possible spots but no higher.PeterD26/07/2023
From SJ 9485 2643. Visited all lumps within the gateposts - but the nominated 'Summit feature' seems correct.summitsup13/02/2023
From S, also visited alternative tops on misty morning.RobertP13/11/2022
Parked on the historically named Battle Ridge in Hopton where in 1643 the Royalist cavalry had gathered to defend Stafford against the Parliamenatrians in one of the 76 battles of the drawn out Englsih Civil War. I marched expectingly northwards across the actual battlefield - hoping to trip over a rusting musket or pike perhaps -but no such luck -all just barley fields -350 years of farming has presumably ploughed up or down any relics. One of Stafford's several large MOD depots ironically covers a chunk of the battlefield -with supplies for battles worldwide -mostly in big sheds but some desert coloured air conditioning units lined up (neatly of course) inside the perimiter fence along with a Civil War info board which you have to read through the mesh fence. Surly dog encounted by summit with similar owner who replied with an non-reassuring ...errr when I asked if it was friendly. A 16ft pike would have shown it who was boss.Chris Pearson14/05/2022
From Salt. This suddenly feels like real hill country after the rolling arable land to the west. Never seen so many dandelions as in this surprisingly tranquil and scenic spot. Lovely woodland with bluebells but sadly the dreaded balsam is starting to proliferate so that will be the end of them. Included south top.Wycombe Wanderer01/05/2022
Walked up from Salt and through the woods. Agree with others that the top is in the woods near the track.Moorponder25/02/2019
From Salt as others.clivevilla15/12/2018
3rd top of 7 today on an 18.5 mile route from Astonhill Farm bus stop to Little Haywood, climbing Peasley Bank then Upper Park taking the Fp past the monument to follow the Stone Circles Way, heading West onto the track then the summit, a few metres off the track next to conifers. Visited alternative top but got a lower reading, it also being a few metres off the track in an attractive mixed copse. Fp past the M.O.D site then bland road to the A538 heading for Satnall Hills..Dazingdale24/11/2018
Parked in Salt then followed Stone Circles Challenge path S into woods, then W past small cave and then back onto PRoW leading S. Link to Streetmap using grid reference puts the summit outside of the woods but it is definitely somewhere in them, just off the track.Wheelsy22/07/2018

Parked at start of lane to SW. Lane NE then track NW through wood to above horsey fields. Highest point seems just off track to NE at SJ 95261 27080, or maybe at edge of wood. Field itself seems lower.Aye Jimmy20/03/2016
