Starting in caunton on 46 mile bike ride. Took track to mast off a6075 then turned left still on track before taking off into field to summit. Had a tough time getting out of nickerbush plantation most of paths overgrown got a few thornsThe-Z-Man24/02/2024
Parked in a small pull-in at the extreme west of Nickerbush plantation where a short path leads up to the RofW. This can be followed through the trees to a signpost pointing across the field. Either cross the field and walk along the wood edge to alongside the summit or head direct to the summit without following the path.moorsman23/11/2023
Parked at the transmitter. ROW, then through a wide gap in the hedge.PGCE07/10/2023

From south in glorious sunshine. Good views all round. Nottinghamshire compleat. Not a spectacular county but some nice rolling hills and woodland and lots of fine bings.Wycombe Wanderer15/10/2021
Parked at mast, then along FP, which continued through gap in hedge. Then followed field edge and into summit field.PeterD26/08/2021
Parked in Tuxford Rd, under power-lines in double entrance to fields. Keep hedgerow on left, dog-leg right and out onto summit. (Sugar-beet in field)Meanderer23/08/2021
Parked at road junction, follow path through wood then across field up by another wood to stubble field. Returned by following edge of large field back to original wood. On my own. Cool & Sunny.alwaysinshorts28/02/2021
Walked up public footpath through woods from the west. Parked on grass at road junction east of Walesby. Pleasant little walk to summit in stubble field. Back the same way. Solo.Dangerous Dave23/01/2021

Round of 4 hills from Nottingham 107.1km. Willoughby Hill, Golden Hill, Ollerton Pits Wood and finished with Burstheart Hill. Called via the major oak too, but robin hood was out. All fairly straight forward having read other logs.Nicky C24/04/2020

Grassy field edges from road to SW. Summit a levelish area of arable field with fresh blades of young crop. High point un-marked ~30m SE of corner of hedge. Very fine morning of clear skies, sun just breaking the horizon.RichardM15/01/2019

As AJ. walked round edge of fields. HP is 30 ms into field from w side.Campbell Singer05/02/2016
1st of three hills on a long walk from Kirton to Southwell with my partner's black Labradoodle, Lexi Rue. We caught a bus to Bulwell, a train to Mansfield and then the Stagecoach 14 bus to Kirton. We walked up the main street then took the minor road N and at intersection with junction took fp through Nickerbush plantation out into open field and skirting more woodland. Easy walk up to summit which does appear to be a few metres into field from hedge boundary. Descent was NE to join fp heading Ese past Transmission tower and S to A road.Dazingdale19/11/2015
Parked first at mast, but path along South Edge of field blocked at next fence line (possibly conected with large new solar panel arrays). So went back and followed AJ's routeGordonAdshead12/07/2015
From Walesby via lane leading to mast, then path along back. Summit seems to be either by hedge or more likely slightly into the field.Wheelsy12/06/2015
Scruffy layby at SK 6992.7010 then low profile approach along track and field edges to top corner of hedgeline. Last 30m are out in field (all earth and mud on this occasion) in view of distant farm.Aye Jimmy15/12/2014
