Today myself and Hitman9956 enjoyed a 23km walk from Fairlie which included Blaeloch Hill (407m), Brown Hill (344m) and Kaim Hill (387m). The views over the islands and countryside were very good and we enjoyed the walk. /D | meltdiceburg | 26/08/2023 |
From wind farm cp up track to high point then across wettish terrain to summit. Followed path from there past wreckage of Fairy Firefly from 1944 (two naval officers died) to cairn. From there saw the Waverley by Great Cumbrae and a submarine heading into port. Down to track and walk back. | SS | 24/07/2023 |
Didn't ever think this would be a repeat but 20 years later found it much easier accessing from the north. | lordtonult | 19/05/2023 |
From the windfarm car park, following the wind farm track to where the slope on the right is retained by gabions, beyond which an initially narrow path leads to the summit. The Blae Loch lived up to its name today. I descended over the summit of Brown Hill and easily enough through grass and reeds to a fence into the field next to the A760, which has no barbed wire where a former gate leads to a three half-pipe bridge over a drainage ditch. Thence to the road and back. | Nick Down1 | 10/04/2023 |
Self and dog. Bleak drizzly morning. | Invicta14 | 23/02/2023 |
Solo from the windfarm car park. Followed the track to the high point and then rather more easily to the summit than the ground looks. Mist coming & going so no real view. Back by the same way. | NotReallyABagger | 18/11/2022 |
Parked NS2429357487. Followed windfarm track to 380m contour then across to summit. | PeteF | 25/10/2022 |
Parked in the car park for the wind farm track and walked up that before heading off across pathless grassland. I was meeting somebody at Glasgow Airport whose flight was delayed several hours so used the delay to bag this one. I was in civilian clothes and got soaked. | clivevilla | 11/09/2022 |
From wind farm parking area at NS 2430 5748, up track to high point & then W. across roughish ground to White Knowes - Picked up an old ATV track/bit of a path mentioned by pwbellarby; this heads SW to the unmarked summit. | gerrybowes | 09/08/2022 |
Another windy and wet forecast……thee is a huge parking area in front of thr wide wide access gates……
Plod plod plod….then off piste. Damp and windy | VerySlowPlodder | 10/05/2022 |
From wind farm car park to the north. Good road almost all the way to the summit. Back over Brown Hill. Solo. | Dangerous Dave | 16/04/2022 |
Iloveducks | 27/03/2022 | |
From windfarm carpark solo, pleasant 7am ascent. Up via track - better for views east, heron and greylag geese in the lochan, descended the boggy path from cairn. Detour to Brown Hill barely worthwhile. | Nick Canute | 24/03/2022 |

Circuit of north & south tops from wind farm car park. | thekirkie pirate | 06/12/2021 |
After being locked into a quarry 3 weeks ago near Fort William I almost got locked into a wind farm today. Wind farm gate had row padlocks on it so didn't check it out further. Before I had a chance to go in noticed a van came out and just pulled the bar out and then closed it again, so realised that actually not padlocked so within 10 minutes I open the gate drove all the way up to the first wind generator below the summit of the Hill. At the Summit I noticed two white vans going back along the track from other windmills towards where I had parked so I realised that were people working up there so worried about possibility of being locked in. The second van consciously stopped at wind generator where my car was parked. Thought he'd soon drive on again but didn't. Fortunately I was back at my car within 15 minutes or so. He wasn't angry at all perfectly friendly and just said he realised my car'd get locked in if he didn't wait. Kind of him. | vegibagger | 14/10/2021 |

Solo. From the car park at the start of the wind-farm road on the A760. Up the wind-farm road to the high point of the road and then west to the summit of Blaeloch Hill. Descended on an old ATV track/bit of a path over White Knowes to the wind-farm road. Then north on rather rough ground to include Brown Hill. Excellent weather. | pwbellarby | 29/09/2020 |

Control site on OMM at lochan next to summit. A second visit as OMM 2001 also visited the summit for a control. No such thing as windfarms on the hills back then. Guess I will be back in 18 years time in 2037 (!) once again? | Chris Pearson | 27/10/2019 |

A perfect hill for a quick stroll on the way from Loch Eck to Arran. Nice and easy up the windfarm track, and a short off piste climb to the top over nice, friendly tussocks (good firm mossy gaps in between). Nice summit, nice views. | Gill | 16/11/2017 |

5th hill of 6 today on a route from West Kilbride to Largs via Gill hill, Glenton hill, Caldron hill and Kaim hill. It felt like a right slog to get here. I Climbed around Lairdside and had rest of my lunch and then Climbed to the top on a bearing. Walked close to 400m Cairn and wind turbines close to my right. Eventually arrived at the Loch and summit Cairn close by. I Climbed All the other bumps to make Sure including Ne Cairn before continuing onto Brown hill. | Dazingdale | 20/09/2016 |

Parked just off road to North by turbine cluster entrance. Good car park. With Jenx plodded up the road to first main trig, then cut across the moor back to East. Would be better to leave the turbine road on its final stretch uphill, look for a cairn on skyline and make for that, cuts the corner off saving 15 mins and a bit of bog trotting. Another hil with an unpleasant turbine cluster on top. | nordicstar | 25/11/2015 |
Wind turbine track useful, but better to cut the corner, certainly on the way down. | jenx | 25/11/2015 |

Detour on way back home from Glengoyne for RN's 1000th. Started from lay-by near Catburn. Sorry I did not check this one out before climbing, the vegetation was dry and short but the windfarm tracks would have been easier on the feet than sidestepping the pervasive tussocks. | Topographer57 | 22/04/2015 |
