|Highest point of Whitelee Windfarm. Started from Auldhouse near the Windfarm SUbstation. Took just under 2 hours. Pleasant afternoon hike on a well maintained track.||Thomas McIlvaney||15/10/2018|
|County top reached from a pull in area on a bend in the road before you get to Carrot farm north west of top. Walked down rd to a field just before the first house on the left where a path leads around the back of house to the track that heads for Corse hill. The track starts in the drive of first house but is padlocked and so the path in the field should be used to avoid upsetting the locals. Five and a quarter mile in two hours. Once on track signed all the way to the top on wide access roads.||WAYNE ROWLETT||03/08/2018|
|Solo. Parked a little north of Carrot. Took well defined path on left about 50m before the first house of Carrot; this joins an old track that winds up through the forest. Higher up rather a lot of wind turbines and tracks. Drizzle and cloud on descent.||pwbellarby||17/06/2018|
|Evening walk up the forest/windfarm track from Carrot Farm...good views north over Hamilton to the Clyde. Windfarm city...||N.Morters||29/08/2017|
|A few parking spaces at the forest roadend north of Ardochrig (NS638468), then 25 minutes cycling along a very good track to by the summit. This was actually my second attempt: first time, parked at Carrot, accidentally took the track to Myres Hill and didn't have time to do it right...||Pete R||26/08/2017|
|Parked at wind farm gate 200 metre north of Carrot. Took the path on the left which is about 50 metre before house on the left as you walk to Carrot. 90 minutes and just over 5 miles return. Wet but pleasant solo walk.||bolton||30/05/2017|
|3/3 (Drumgoyne/Earl's Seat/Corse Hill)||Fergalh||29/05/2017|
|Second visit with Chris Peart. Parking near Carrot was a little tricky, with the farmer, politely, requesting us to leave the way clear for heavy lorries. Lots of cones are now spread around to discourage careless parking. Fortunately, there is a spot 200m back north, beside a wind farm gate. Otherwise, a boring trudge in drizzle and wind.||Colin Crawford||20/04/2017|
|From Carrot with Colin Crawford.||Chris Peart||20/04/2017|
|A lovely summer morning walk up from Carrot Farm.||Dugswell2||03/06/2016|
|Park just before Carrot Farm, left before farm and followed signposts to summit, very wet track, wet and windy on summit with very little views, with Dave.||Hutchie1||28/01/2016|
|Ascended from North w Jenx. Parked at Carrot, diversion around homestead. Took old track all way to summit trig, straightforward. 1 hour return. This old track was here long before the windmills, which Mark do not improve the walk one bit!||nordicstar||24/11/2015|
|The old track in from the north is pleasant until the wind farm road joins it.||jenx||24/11/2015|
|Ascended from the south. Parking is tricky from this direction. Mindful of the cold welcome at Laigh Alderrstocks mentioned in MarHoFN 2008, we eventually found a place to park just east of East Browncastle at NS 63280 43436. This extended the walk to 12.6 km. We followed the lane west then north to its end, then windfarm dirt roads NW, N, NE, W, N, W and NNE to the summit. Returned the same way. This hill must once have been a wonderful wilderness, but sitka plague has rather ruined it - though many of the areas have been cropped. I'd never thought I'd write this, but the walk is made marginally more interesting by the vast windfarm! The wind turbines, for once, are a godsend. Access before them must have been ghastly. With AT and JT on a dull, but dry, cloudy day.||marktrengove||29/11/2014|
|Good tracks from Carrot up to ugly windfarm.||AndrewFinnimore||13/10/2014|
|A long hike through the wind farm!||Chris Mac||14/09/2014|
|from carrot good tracks all the way to summit.||robertphillips||30/04/2014|
|Easy walk from Carrot along forest/windfarm tracks.||martin_hall||21/09/2013|
|Highest point of a giant windfarm. From the NW, starting from just N of Carrot. A signposted path bypasses the dwellings and leads into the forest. Old maps do not show the many new tracks, some of which lead only to turbines.||Topographer57||26/07/2012|
|From farm at Laigh Alderstocks. Not much ascent but windfarm tracks wander about a lot. Forest on map mostly gone. Trig on top, next to Turbine 104 and empty but barbed-wire fenced compound.||Aye Jimmy||12/10/2011|
|Easy first one for the year. Up woodland path from Carrot in the snow.||tcrannoch||09/01/2011|
|Started at the Whitelee Windfarm visitor centre.
Got a decent map of the winfarm roads. Had gone there to run to the hill and back - ended up doing over 15 miles. Hard work for a little lump.
Should have started at the other end of the spine road - or u||derekblackburn||04/10/2010|
|Ascended many times from Carrot and from Windfarm VC. Great views over Glasgow from summit.||quadbarrel||12/06/2010|
|Dry, overcast but clear, soft snow, good views.||iangalbraith||17/01/2010|
|The trig point is next to Turbine 104 on the spine road from Whitelee Wind Farm Visitor Centre.||neimcv||09/11/2009|
|Small hill with a good few windmills. Access difficult through wooded area. Short day.||Jimbob||21/02/2009|
|Walked up from Carrot along forest track and then new windfarm roads. Returned via Carrot Moor Farm to the north east for a change but route is not recommended due to boggy conditions and GOMLs at Farm.||andy||14/02/2009|
|Revisit. From NW (Carrot) mapped track to NS597470; wind farm track continues roughly on line of old track to summit (turbine 104 just below trig S1604). Thick mist.||RHW||13/09/2008|
|Lots of wind turbines being built on top.||petemckin||01/03/2008|
|I'd leave this one alone for the next few months folks.
More fun dodging lorries on the M74 than making your way thru the windfarm/open cast construction site.||PeteF||20/07/2007|
|Up from Carrot: pleasant enough until I met the windfarm construction work close to the summit. Took a firebreak out to the west from a little north of the summit towards Drumduff Hill. At the end of the break I emerged into an awful morass.||campagvelocet||23/02/2007|
|Pleasant stroll through pine forests along good path, good views on hill on a clear day. Start from Carrot farm near Eaglesham.||Philonehalf||11/08/2006|
|Track up from Carrot - before the turbines arrived. Trig easily found (;-)||chriswatson||19/06/2006|
|Last of quite a few ascents.||ARM||28/12/2005|
|Date is first visit. Notes from later...simple hill, good view of Glasgow (lights by night + ?Ayr), telecom mast, spruce. from Carrot: stile, FP round fm, wide tk to summit||RHW||16/11/2001|
|End of road south of Eaglesham. Fog. Round the farm to forest road for 2 1/2 miles to top at 10.50. No view - mist and trees.||arranc||17/02/2001|
|Herculean ordeal with peat haggs from Carrot using 50p second hand map. Discovered cycle track from the otherside but still needed to return same awful way.||Eddie||27/06/1999|
|Walked from Carrot via forestry track to summit. With G, A, J & L.
|From Carrot with Fiona, Chalmers No.76.||agentmancuso||05/03/1995|
