Summit has prominent water tower which I suspect was built on the high point. However, at the SW corner of the water tower enclosure is an earthy rise under trees at edge of nettles and brambles which may be current highest ground. Accessed from track to E then easy gap through hedge past derelict garages and then a struggle through brambles and head high nettles. As noted by jonglew, all part of the fun! | RichardM | 17/09/2023 |

Parked to NE. ROW, then field boundary, then into scrub. Brambley summit. | PGCE | 18/08/2022 |

Walked up Mill Lane | Mark Sims | 03/09/2019 |
Went up road by houses first, then to water tower (a trig intersected stn), scrub land at rear fun with head-high nettles! | jonglew | 19/07/2019 |
Parked on tindale bank road and followed the footpaths to the summit coming back through the pleasant westwoodside village. 4.5 miles 1h20m | The-Z-Man | 16/07/2018 |
Parked in Westwoodside and had a wander up to Holy Well in Low Burnham before coming back through Haxey past the tower, checking out the other possible high points. An unremarkable walk and hill. | Wheelsy | 14/04/2018 |
Walked with my dad on a sunny afternoon. | TLBW | 14/04/2018 |
As everyone else, which is the actual summit is debatable. From the tower the houses look distinctly higher ..... from the houses the tower looks higher. Mill Lane is a road so can be driven down, there is a layby by the tower. Take your pick. | moorsman | 30/12/2017 |
Scrub behind tower accessible in winter. Looking into compound, the slight rise near roadside gate looks a little higher. | carole engel | 21/12/2017 |
1st and only hill today on the Trent Valley Way, starting in Gainsborough (train from Nottm, change at Lincoln). I walked over 50 km today (should have been 47 but I missed a section and had to loop round). I visited the scrub at the back of the water tower and recorded 44m then visited Mill lane and walked up to the door of no. 7, recording 42m and then followed field edge to record 43m in field opposite water tower. Visited tea room in Haxey then followed Trent Valley Way all the way into Scunthorpe, last 2 1/2 hrs with head torch on The Trent was swollen with water and the Super moon was a treat. | Dazingdale | 04/10/2017 |
Visited all three possible locations. Grass bank opposite tower is possibly the top. | Ramblingpaul | 04/11/2016 |
Wanted up to the water tower with my brolly. Blustery rain.
Then up the other road opposite which it'd probably the true summit. Picked a load of crab apples from outside one of them. | vegibagger | 16/10/2016 |
Solo. Visited all accessible likely high points. Grassy bank across road from water tower a candidate! | Dangerous Dave | 22/07/2016 |
Went to Tower and Mill Lane. Driveway of No 11 seemed higher.
My last Nth Lincs. top. | PeterD | 21/06/2016 |
Mill Lane then water tower. | ngthack | 14/06/2016 |
Tried Mill Lane and near water tower. Road near water tower seemed higher to me. | Moorponder | 30/05/2016 |
Walked up and along Mill Lane. | Campbell Singer | 21/04/2016 |
parked up beside Haxey church and walked the short distance up to water water tower...also walked up mill lane and a couple of footpaths as unsure as to where the highest ground is. | steven ruffles | 03/02/2016 |
Bagged the tower then Mill Lane. | Dugswell2 | 02/05/2015 |
Somewhere near houses 13/14 on Mill Lane for me. Not convinced that round back of tower is higher (if jungle was cut down) than crest of lane beside it, about 10m from road. | Aye Jimmy | 12/12/2014 |
1) Mill Lane: houses obviously higher than road, rear gardens may be slightly higher than front drives; 2) scrub at back (SW corner) of water tower higher than road. Latter is the worthier summit... This is my final Lincs P30. | RHW | 07/12/2014 |
I agree that the high point is somewhere around the water tower. Had a good look around it trying to take in all possible high points. | bolieve | 25/10/2014 |
around water tower most likely top, try in the scrubland behind it. | Adrian | 15/03/2014 |
Top could be opposite water tower, half way up Mill Lane or just right of junction with Cross Hill | Bramley | 16/08/2013 |
