Easy verge parking 30m SW of the beacon. Beacon has been in place since 2008 and replaced an old wooden beacon which disintegrated & eventually fell down. | gerrybowes | 05/04/2023 |
nice views not much of a walk from car park! | grumpy | 09/01/2023 |
Pleasant moor and a shame a longer walk was not required. | clivevilla | 15/09/2022 |

1 of 5 on 22 mile bike ride straight up the hill from Danby car park. Killer climb after not been in the saddle for 18 months | The-Z-Man | 18/07/2021 |
I'm doing all the Beacon Hill / beacon (something) summits - this one is a classic - because there is a physical beacon brazier and 360 degree views. 10/10 | M3WDD | 05/07/2021 |
We decided to drive round the National park from Scarborough to complete all the Ma and Hu. By the time we came off Guisborough Moor Pete, the driver, had had enough but I put Tumptation his way and he couldn't resist the detour off the A171 to bag this- 1 min from the parking and I nicer hill than the Ma, with great views of Eskdale and Loftus and 3 Painted Lady butterflies hill-topping the HP. | pwheeler | 09/06/2021 |

We parked at t-junction south of the hill and followed deeply rutted trail up to summit, we previously bagged this hill in 2011 but never ascended it properly and as Siss Cross Hill nearby was on fire we decided to re-do this one. Last hill of the day, earlier we bagged Eston Nab and The Howe. Cloudy/drizzly. | DanTrig | 23/10/2020 |
Disappointed because for years I have thought this was a distant cross. Beacon was nice. No walk as car park right next to pillar. | Argentum66 | 24/10/2019 |
Adjacent car park - hill, trig pillar, benchmarks, boundary stone, fingerpost. Something for everyone! | jonglew | 06/09/2019 |
A Grand Tour similar to Bramley’s. A cracking viewpoint in a wonderful moorland setting. | Nick Down1 | 31/08/2019 |

Summed up perfectly by ijpowell's log as '100% satisfaction for zero effort' as we too drove across the vast lonely moors up to this fine viewpoint. Looks like perfect cycling country on lonely moorland roads with steep climbs up and down into the green valleys. | Chris Pearson | 28/07/2016 |
Great views. | berksbantam | 14/07/2016 |
Here for the trigpoint. TP:UK log:
