In a pasture a little close to a farm but it was a Sunday and I did not see anybody. | clivevilla | 13/03/2022 |

Parked at road junction to SE, followed busy road to field next to Standing Stone Rigg farm track, with convenient gate from track into grassy level sheep field. Raining. Failed to do adjacent trig due to ripe crop. | Denise | 31/07/2021 |

Exactly as Gerry Bowes. The field is in view of the farm but no challenge to Pete and me. | pwheeler | 10/06/2021 |

Layby about 100m SE of junction with minor road - Along grass verge, up farm track, over gate & across lush pasture to the unmarked summit. (S) | gerrybowes | 03/09/2020 |
1 of 4 on 15 mile walk starting in Cloughton. Nice peaceful walk up through Cloughton woods before a short roadside walk up the A171 before over farmers gate and to tree line summit. Continued into field at back where there were a number of caravans. No one around. With jordan | The-Z-Man | 22/02/2020 |

Drove up farm track to farm but nobody around, so turned, drove back and nipped over gate. Lush pasture for such a dry summer. | Campbell Singer | 08/08/2018 |

Parked at junction of minor road and A171 to South(by touching memorial to motorcyclist)then along verge of main road(adequate enough)to farm track. Over gate and up to top. | catman | 15/07/2018 |
From parking SE 9893 9677, had to pass a barn full of unhappy pigs - unpleasant but then I eat 'em so shouldn't complain | carole engel | 07/07/2018 |
Tricky | 02/07/2018 | |
Ascent at dusk after Cloughton trig with Smudge while a wolf was snarling in the adjacent plantation. | Dugswell2 | 02/12/2017 |

Visited trig first then up the track, chatting to the farmer collecting silage rolls first. He told me about the stone circle which I visited first to the nw next to the forest and followed by very unscared young cows who licked my legs toes and hand and nibbled at my shirt and trousers. Quite unusual. They're usually more timid. Wandered back across the field where the highest spot is on the map. | vegibagger | 26/06/2016 |

From se as others. Summit is sw of farm access road. Sheep now becoming paranoid I think... | RHW | 02/04/2016 |

Parked at road junction just to south, visited trig before walking on road and up farm track to 'summit' - a field full of nervous sheep | citygent | 02/03/2016 |

About 50m NW of entrance lane to Standingstone Rigg, on other side of A171 some forestry operation has created rough parking spot, used this (Sunday). Then walked up farm lane, metal gate into field and gentle summit. Also visited trig near road junction to SE. | Aye Jimmy | 11/01/2015 |
Hodgson Moor must be the ultimate pointless summit. Parking is best at the junction with the main road and the minor road to the south-east From here there is a 200yd walk alongside the main road as far as the entrance to Standingstones Rigg house. You can walk along this track, unseen, as far as the field gate just before the first fence. Open this and the summit is just across the field. No view, no sense of achievement, no effort and the feeling that you have totally wasted 20 minutes of your life. | moorsman | 30/11/2014 |
Agree that this is a bit of a dull summit, but as a detour on a nice day out, before driving back to Scalby, it could have been worse. | DanHolme | 29/08/2014 |
