As others from parking to the east. Not too bad this time of year.Alan Caine19/03/2023
Parked at SJ 347 011 for a circuit of 3 Tumps. ROW past Lower Santley, then onto ridge. Kept to ridge line (ignoring 'Private' sign) on faint path. Path improved when on Access Land, and summit boulders easily reached. Continued S to descend on very faint path to emerge at corner opposite coach depot - not sure I would have found this route in ascent. A nice ridge despite the lack of views. Onwards to Shelve Hill and Nick Knolls.PGCE20/11/2021

Attacked it from the track which runs parallel to the bridleway to the W of the hill. Pass some ruined brick sheds & then up the hill - brambles a pain. Found the large boulders on the S end of the summit ridge. No views! Back to the path & on to Nick Knolls.DanMaisieBex24/07/2020
I went up it from the south at the easternmost point of the access land on the lane. This was dreadful. The hill summit foto on the site gives a true impression of the going. There was a collection of boulders at the top but the very top could be a boulder a few meters away almost inaccessible in undergrowth.Alan Moore06/07/2020
As PeterD. Probably better in the winter as this is real bramble country. Decided to call it a day as weather deteriorated.Campbell Singer22/11/2019
From road bend parking area, along track and then into woods, not easy going but found boulders at top.PeterD07/04/2019
Access Land entered at SE corner. 100m along vegetated track the vegetation eases allowing access to the open woodland on the S shoulder. High point is group of mossy boulders at the S end of the summit ridge. No views but rather nice after I cleared away the forest debris.RichardM10/01/2018
Approached as originally described by clivevilla; took gloves and secateurs which were useful. Two surprises: quite significant rocky mounds on top, plus GPS device giving height of around 360m.Aye Jimmy27/10/2017
Twelve Tump circuit from Mitchell's Fold stone circle. Unpleasant ascent through brambles from edge of field roughly due east of summit. Slightly better descent heading ESE from summit.davidpettit8417/06/2017
Large parking area on the road bend to the SE (alt 323m. The summit area is almost a no-go area of thick brambles, bracken and windblown trees. Took as long to get through these as it did to climb the hill itself. Summit possibly not attainable in high summer. 774m, 20 minutes return (including bramble clearing).moorsman17/05/2017
Hike with the local rambling group. Parking close to the Bog Visitor Centre. Stiperstones-Sneachill-Buxton Hillmanilena02/04/2017
Quick up and down from SO356977 . The brambles are starting to grow !heavyhorses17/03/2017
With Jo, circular walk from The Bog cp: road and SW to Stiperstones and The Paddock, then via Stiperstones village to Buxton Hill, returning along road with a detour to the Tankerville Lead Mine site. Weather; sunny, warm day with good visibility.amblerbob19/10/2016

Pretty much in Clives footsteps. The b/wire is easily cleared in the right hand corner as you get to the fence. Paths sketchy to non existent but not too bad. Lots of dead wood and rabbit/ badger holes. Summit is pretty overgrown but is a number of boulders which came as a suprise. Whilst nowhere near as bad as feared it is not the sort of hill anyone is likely to visit twice though. With Laura.w.stig_nest15/04/2016
Parked to SE on car park on inside of right hand bend, then walked W on track, then N on FP before climbing bwf and climbing through brambly woods.clivevilla13/01/2016
Parking to SW so climbed up W side. Bad idea. From SE much easier. RHW10/08/2013
