Logged Descriptions  (logged by 39 users)ByDate of Ascent
From Whitcliffe CP SO 49412 74186, various options, including a public bridleway. Short section of non-bwf fencing at SO 48791 73698 into penultimate field (easier than the gate at SO 48582 73705 and slightly shorter). Stile at fence junction immediately south of summit.Martin R23/04/2022
Car parked where track enters forest at 'Gorsty'. Followed PRoW until it leaves forest, then over gate into field & up to the summit knoll.DanMaisieBex21/04/2022
After High Vinnals and Bringewood. This was much easier than Bringewood, an easy ascent from the bridleway. Carried on along the bridleway all the way down to Dinham, coffee and cake by the bridge for a nice finish to the walk from Richard's Castle.thesweetcheat09/04/2022
From Bringewood via bridleway to N. With Carla, the littlies and the Thompsons. Sheep pasture. Views across to the Clee hills and the Malverns.RoguePulsar10/07/2021

Excellent little hill to round off the day, Started to park on main road, but guy from the Garden Centre next to Mary Knoll House rushed out and invited me to park in his yard. Back home to Manchester in 2 hours.GordonAdshead04/05/2019

Parked at entrance to Lower Whitcliffe forest track to NNW, W along track, up ROW to road and Mary Knoll House and E to top, easily found. Light snowfall and bright sunshine made it very pleasant.milimana30/01/2019

Parking where the forestry road leaves the main road just west of Gorsty. Walk NE along the road taking the bridleway through Mary Knoll House. Path on left leads through a gate into the summit field. 1.74km return. Under 30 minutes.moorsman09/08/2018
Muddy track from Whitcliffe car park then over pasture to distint summit amongst Scotts Pines. Sleet and moderate NW wind. Summit fields extend further W than indicated on my map.RichardM31/01/2018
After descending Bringewood, walked along the road, up the bridleway and across the field to the rather unspectacular summit of Mary Knoll amongst the trees. No problem with access today.sooztops04/09/2016
Walked back along road from Gorsty after having done Bringewood to the BW. Through gate into field and surprised to see stile to gain HP in amongst a few isolated trees.PeterD07/08/2016

485736 is accurate. The top is fairly obvious among a few trees just behind the fence at the top of the field.clivevilla01/06/2013
I was quite disappointed on the day, strolling up from Ludlow, to discover I'd gone the wrong way and was not, in fact, on my way up High Vinnalls at all. My disappointment is long gone now I know it's a tump - if only I'd carried on up Bringewood as well!DanHolme03/03/2008
With: sj; At Easter with Sian in Ludlow. Walked up via Whitcliffe into woods & up to High Vinnalls. Returned through wood's.Ian Baines25/03/1978
I spent many days exploring Bringewood as a child and remember visiting the top of Maryknoll when there was a 405 line television transmitter here, just below the summit. In 1963, a snowy owl prowled these parts. (Pronounced Marrynoll)fasgadh01/06/1968
