Recommend secateurs for the final ten metres.Martin R28/05/2023
Parked to SW, near entrance to Mallards Pike Lake. Forest tracks, then a very short push through young trees.PGCE25/09/2022
Parked in same spot to ESE as Gerry and followed ROW to the cottage near the summit. The new trees are 10-15 ft high now but still easy enough to squeeze through to the hp. Returned by a slightly different route to make a pleasant circuit.milimana10/05/2021
From New Fancy car park at SO627095.Twice Brewed11/02/2021
Parked at a convenient space at Bradley Hill (SO 65800 09863), crossed the road and followed the upward track. Turned right at the junction and continued on to Staple Edge cottage & just beyond. Summit just a few yards into the densely planted area off the main track. (Heard Wild Boar and saw lots of their tracks in here).Gerry the Ranger29/11/2020
Indistinct HP to W of track with many saplings. cycle trip.Denise 29/05/2020
Hard to be sure of the high point in levelish area of young trees. We took a point close to a Sweet Chestnut in among Cypress(?) as the high point (SO 64581 10378). Young trees reasonably easy to 'push through' No view.RichardM29/05/2020
Up forest track from SO655101Tony J17/03/2019
From the bend by Upper Soudley. Loads of boar tracks. I spoke to a guy in the village who says they are a nuisance and he claimed to have seen one between two parked card on his way home from the pub. There are now young trees compared with the photo but that stump is still there and is at the GR given.clivevilla04/12/2018
Blakeney to Littledean. Numerous windthrow obstacles across the lesser tracks hinder rapid progress. My Cudleigh Holes descent route was also slowed by deep churning caused by 'foresty operations'.Smudge04/02/2018
From Upper Soudley village hall, southwest on forest tracks, crossing the minor road, then north on the main track to a point just north east of the bungalows, then across to the track that runs closest to the summit, and just off of this to the highest point I could find, a mound close to a standing dead tree.Mariana Trench07/01/2018
Parked over the road from the Go Ape entrance where parking seems to be free and walked up the tracks from there through the lovely woods. Didn't see any boar but did see some deer. I wandered over to the given location but then wandering back seemed to pass higher points including that by the house.Father Ted18/04/2017
Numerous boar around.Adrian24/09/2016
Up forest track from busy minor road to SW of Upper Soudley. Beautiful mixed forest with a great deal of evidence of piggy presence (evidently becoming a real nuisance in F of D). HP 30 ms off track amongst recent fir tree planting.Campbell Singer23/09/2016
Parked on road verge just outside Soudley. Tracks all the way to the house and I then ventured into the clearing which I thought looked slightly higher. Sun shining for a change in an otherwise grim day.Herbert Anchovy15/06/2016
Walk up first tracks from the deeply included beautiful valley road to the north, though there is a house Staple Cottages on the summit so I expect it could be a drive up of one knew the right entrance, perhaps from further to the nwvegibagger04/04/2016
Woodland paths/tracks from visitors centre.rhalstead26/04/2015
Walk up on forest tracks to cleared area.arranc08/03/2015
Muddy pull-in for one car on minor road coming S from Cinderford at SO 65057 11221, then along forest tracks to summit. HP could be on track by 2 houses, but seemed to be a higher point in area of felled trees 80-100m N.jonglew17/02/2015
highest pt is tk adj house; woodland; pleasant ascent from E; may be poss (& pointless) to drive in via forest tks. fp from road junct to W (Upper Soudley) RHW04/01/2003
