On row I stood aside for two friendly horse riders who commentated that this sunny spring weather was the best for horse riding as there were no flies. Every hobby has its unpleasant aspects at times it seems - for baggers its brambles -which I found aplenty here in making a first (and probably last) known human circumnavigation -certainly in shorts -of the giant water tanks. This was a silly and pointless thing to do for the sake of creating a mini-circular walk to the high point. I have the scratches to prove it. The flatness all about also defeated my feeble attempts to generate a frisson of excitement at being apparently on the main Lands End to J O G watershed. Really? Pronounce the name with a silent W - A rotter of a hill.Chris Pearson23/03/2022
Solo. Almost dark on the way to pick Evie up from Ludlow. Simple, from SW as othersRoguePulsar28/08/2021
Parked at start of bridleway. Along path and field edge to top.Bramley21/07/2021
Drove from Warwick, along the M6 in the snow, and enjoyed a 3 km walk from the usual car park at SJ 826006 and returned via the trig point. The return route gave a good view over to cloud-wreathed Brown Clee. Sunny, pleasant and refreshed with the covering of snow on this hill. With Pete.pwheeler02/01/2021
From small dirt car park (SJ 8261 0069). Followed RoW until due S of the HP, then along the field/woodland margin. Dropped S after to pick up the West Beech trig pillar and along roads back to car.jonglew15/12/2020
HP appears to be on slightly raised earth embankment on west side of Wrottelsey plantation; ploughed field to west. All very level. Accessed from path to S. Also visited trig to S and parked on grass verge by it. Low sun breaking through grey skies.Denise 09/12/2020
Along field - forest boundary from track to S. Sun breaking through cloud, Buzzard mewing.RichardM09/12/2020

7 of 10 on epic 49.3 mile bike ride including church hill, wrens nest, Dudley castle, netherton hill, ridgehill, blackhill, wrottesley hill, tettenhall woods, bushbury hill and essington hill. Bagged the trig behind fence at road side first, then through woods and up private road to reservoirsThe-Z-Man15/09/2018
1st of 5 tumps today, this 1st part a traverse from Albrighton Station to Tettenhall Wood, taking a footpath through a crop field took me to a minor lane then over the A464 then on another footpath to a minor road to the West of the hill then i took the track that rises, veering off to explore the high points in the field and then into the wood-GPs was reading higher anyway. Found the boulder (although not natural).Lots of man-made mounds within wood with polythene sheeting laid on the ground. I followed field edge South then was on the bridleway that skirts the Southern edge of the wood but then decided to explore the Eastern high points of the enclosed reservoir with its two concrete towers, unnecessarily I may add, getting stung by nettles and attacked by brambles. Just west of the fencing i got my highest reading and certainly is a contender to the field edge. 2nd circuit back to bridleway but this time onwards to Holly lane then Pattingham road to Tettenhall wood.Dazingdale23/06/2018
Muddy bridleway and then through the muddy remains of a stubble turnip crop. Hard to tell where top was so went over the field a bit and just into the wood.Herbert Anchovy09/02/2018
As DavidPettit. Very straightforward.Campbell Singer29/08/2017

From decent sized parking at start of ROW to ssw. Walked the permit error of the woods with a decent view found East of the woods. Lots of bluebells. Some form of excavation going on. Not the best..not the worst.stig_nest22/04/2017

From W, parked at start of b/way, along to wood then N along edge. Took reading in field but boulder by large oak on banking at edge of wood seemed higher.Aye Jimmy14/10/2016
Took RoW south of the bridleway , which was signed private , and there is parking by the start of the RoW -then up field edge from south.Mark Sims21/04/2016
