Parked to WNW in pull-in by start of lane SJ406324. Heavy rain, however lane not quite submerged. | David Evans | 30/09/2022 |
Parked on verge to NW, dry track to gate, across pasture and into woods and up to HP. | PeterD | 10/08/2022 |
Along track from NW. Notable for the number of mosquitoes on a warm humid morning. | PGCE | 24/07/2022 |
Expecting more mud and brambles than I encountered. Puzzled by references to crops as the field at end of track looks like long-term grazing pasture.Nice views of mere. | Martin R | 20/11/2021 |

Lane at SJ406324 flooded and crops too high in the fields (trainers & sorts). May walk over from Tudor Griffith (SJ 42097 32474) on the A528 next week or wait till crop are cut | Sleepwa1ker | 06/07/2021 |
Wet track from west (good parking) flooded - wellies essential. Or fields to north of track | carole engel | 01/11/2020 |
Obvious summit. | Adrian | 03/03/2019 |
Muddy pools in lane a bit tricky to circumvent. | ngthack | 18/02/2019 |
As Aye Jimmy. Huge tractor came along lane. Farmer stopped. to let me past. Friendly wave. Woodland quite clear. | Campbell Singer | 24/08/2018 |
Lane starting from WNW was bone dry and ended at gate into field at side of wood. Up this, into wood and then to summit by a snapped-off tree. | Aye Jimmy | 18/07/2017 |
5/6 day of shrumping with nwormgage. Nwormgage was starting to get tetchy at this point (not tetchill). We sought to go along the ROW travelling SE past the wood on the SW side, to avoid the horrendous looking mess on the track. Passed through a field of curious bullocks. Got into Lee wood, but let me tell you, Lee Wood is a pile of crap. Managed to get into Yarnest along what is probably the more standard route then. Yarnest was better, but not friendly. Exited via the track and navigated the stinky mess on the road. We walked along the nettle covered verge. Nworm's legs were in shreds by now. Only George's Wood to go now, surely that couldn't be any worse?! | tumpawumpa | 31/05/2017 |
Holy hell. Grunge green on lane. Bullocks aggressive, not curious. Lee Wood bad. Yarnest Wood bad. Legs turned to bleeding messes. This will surely never be attempted again. With tumpawumpa. | nwormgage | 31/05/2017 |
Track still flooded at start but further on OK pleasent grassy field to woods and path to summit. | RichardM | 01/02/2017 |
very muddy track. obvious top in brambly forest | Denise | 01/02/2017 |
Along the usual lane. Though first bit looked so icky we elected to follow the line of the lane but inside the field. At top end of field a series of 3 gates leads back to lane. Opens out into lovely pasture with superb view back to Whitemere. Summit has a fallen tree. Woods are pleasant enough. 3rd of 9 with Laura.w. | stig_nest | 05/05/2016 |

Despite muddy pools along the track from 89, end field and wood were very pleasant. | GordonAdshead | 23/04/2016 |
Frisky bullocks in the field below the wood. Walked in along tarck from the west. | clivevilla | 27/08/2015 |
From WNW, track with a few huge puddles tricky to bypass. | RHW | 14/03/2015 |
