Evening visit (9pm). Parked in gateway opposite drive. Gates were open, and balloons out. Nobody about outside, so went through gateway to summit grid ref. Then beat a hasty retreat. | PGCE | 24/09/2022 |
Convenient lay-by on southbound A48 just past the summit. Walked back up road and up drive to peer through the gates. Summit only a few metres away and not much higher. | milimana | 10/05/2021 |
Pulled in at driveway to Blakeney House (it's a fast road so be careful). Private residence & gates were locked so stood at the highest point possible (without trespassing)! | Gerry the Ranger | 29/11/2020 |
Third of three high-speed bags in-between child-friendly places on a family day out in the Forest of Dean. You need a hill like this once in a while to remind you how good other hills are in comparison. | wheresthepath | 11/08/2019 |
The gates were open so I walked in. Nobody about. HP seems to be 67525 08268 on the lawn to the left as you enter. | clivevilla | 04/12/2018 |
Nothing to report | GordonAdshead | 05/05/2018 |
Blakeney to Littledean. Most of the local stiles are either missing steps or seriously blocked by brambles (or both) despite fairly good waymarking. | Smudge | 04/02/2018 |
Builders still working on the house. A busy road indeed so take care. | Father Ted | 18/04/2017 |
Gate open so walked into garden a few ms to high point. | Campbell Singer | 23/09/2016 |
Builders had left gate open so snook a few feet into garden to hp. | Barbara Singer | 23/09/2016 |
House c.2m higher than road. Tall gate locked but could peep over and look down on summit a few m away. Head over summit rule invoked | RHW | 22/07/2016 |
A wander along both road grass verges check if house grounds to the west looked any higher. They didn't. Under hedge on west side seemed likely guest point. Looking up a load of luscious looking blackberries said eat me and celebrate the highest point. On the east side an overhanging fug tree gave up two ripe figs amongst the hard unripe ones. | vegibagger | 04/09/2015 |
Parked in Layby and walked back up the road. | PeterD | 08/08/2015 |
Only went as far as entrance to the garden. | Herbert Anchovy | 07/05/2015 |
From layby. | rhalstead | 26/04/2015 |
Land to W of A48 definitely higher than the road. The residence Blakeley House seemed to be at the HP. Took a GR from their front door. | jonglew | 17/02/2015 |
