What a difference the time of year makes to a walk! Parked at SO 76945 19807 the first 100Yds was a bit muddy but then a nice path and wander for the top. Bluebells are out in force today and the woods were an enchanting carpet of blue. Beautiful | DC11main | 29/04/2023 |
Parked in first layby W of Highnam Woods entrance and then initially followed nature trail route before striking up another ride towards the top. Difficult to ascertain a clear hp amongst the trees and patches of bramble so had a good wander around the area. On a sunny late autumn day with the leaves falling around me it was all very pleasant. | milimana | 18/11/2022 |
A short walk from the road end to the W. Gloucestershire Tump completion. | PGCE | 25/09/2022 |
Completed on the way home after a spontaneous trip to Gloucester. Parked at the garage across the road from Highnam wood entrance and enjoyed a nice easy walk to the summit. | Gerry the Ranger | 28/01/2022 |
Lovely nature reserve, worth a proper explore rather than just going straight up and down from the car park. | Swindon Bagger | 09/05/2021 |
From layby at SO773188 as car park still closed. Also visited area further E of similar height. | Tony J | 13/08/2020 |
Indistinct HP within nettly, brambly undergrowth and trees just N of path within Highnam Woods RSPB reserve. Parked in layby as carpark closed due to Covid. Lovely evening walk with lots of birdsong but didn't recognise a nightingale. Also visited alt HP to East. | Denise | 29/05/2020 |
Through Highnam Woods to summit area of nettles and brambles amongst trees. Also visited the Pinetum area, more pleasant but I think lower. | RichardM | 29/05/2020 |

Parked on Whitehall Lane and followed footpaths through the woods. Bluebells aplenty. | Ramblingpaul | 28/04/2019 |
Cycle from Hartpury College, via Murrell's End, tracks and paths to Rudford Church. Then lane SW and track SW, and S through the woods to the usual track coming up from the W. Continued W to Pinetum Lodge, then N on permissive path to B4215. | Minto | 13/04/2019 |
Parked at end of road to the west at 7965 19821, to the left of the house and a short walk up to a brambly top. | clivevilla | 04/12/2018 |
Parked opposite Kites Nest Lodge to w of hill. Straightforward walk up but lost concentration on return and ended up far to far south. Access to top required some bramble and nettle trampling this time of year. | Campbell Singer | 17/07/2018 |
