Parked at Lineover Woods carpark just off the A40, up the Cotswold Way for 2.5km, then ROW to A436 opposite the gun club entrance. Easy walk over pasture from there, returning steeply down Ravensgate Common to pick up the Woodland Trust yellow route back. | milimana | 23/11/2020 |
As clivevilla. Wall broken down so nothing to climb over. | PGCE | 11/08/2020 |
Rendcomb to Cheltenham. Misty wamble from the quarry (dis) to SW to the road gate at gun club entrance, took in both 295m contour rings in the grassy field containing numerous vehicle tracks | Smudge | 17/11/2019 |
Parked on A436 by a gate and headed across pasture directly for the summit. A lot of gunfire coming from the woods. | clivevilla | 13/11/2019 |
Over field gate at entrance to gun club and up field. | Aye Jimmy | 22/06/2019 |
Parked in layby on A436 and across pasture to summit. Landranger map 163 completed - a stoic victory. | Ramblingpaul | 10/06/2019 |
Parked at entrance to gun club, over gate and into field for straightforward ascent. | Campbell Singer | 10/07/2018 |
Parked at entrance to Gun place. To a soundtrack of bangs, traffic and skylarks, went slightly down and then up to highest point in big grassy meadow. Were those purple orchids amongst the grass and buttercups? | KC | 09/06/2018 |

Parked on the verge just beyond the white stones; followed by an early morning raid. | DC11main | 12/04/2017 |
Went to both but my GPA thought the SE lump marginally higher.
Field full of buttercups. | PeterD | 07/06/2015 |

Parking at gun club entrance on A436. Over field gate into sheep pasture. Pleasant walk to HP. Also walked across to the other HP to SE, unsure, but probably lower. | jonglew | 12/02/2015 |
Parked in the entrance to a gun club (W of the summit) and then hopped over the gate. Short walk over sheep grazed grass to two dome shaped tops. I think the first is the higher. | Herbert Anchovy | 04/02/2015 |
St Johns Ambulance - Cotswold Way 20 Mile walk | aussie1961 | 20/09/2014 |
2pm parked parallel to main road within wide entrance demarcated with white stones. Before I could get maps together and just go into their driveway and simply hoof it up grassy field for 3-400 m and 30-40m of ascent a 4x4 vehicle stopped in the entrance way with engine running. I ignored it even though I expected she wanted to talk with me and continued my prep. eventually I closed my door and then she honked her horn to make it clear she wished me to go over to her car to talk to her. Immediate GOML stuff saying this was a private driveway to a private estate and pointing out that there was a lay by quarter mile down the road.
Needless to say I didn't tell her I intended to go up the little grassy field hill on the estate in case she didn't like it.
Just for an easy life said I'd go down to lay by which meant a walk back up very busy road as A436 is effectively a Cheltenham Bypass to Gloucester and beyond. Not easy as the grass verge narrowed between estate wall and road. | vegibagger | 25/07/2014 |
sheep in open field, nice hill with Cotswold views. | Adrian | 22/12/2013 |
