8/20. Parked on road S of summit then climbed up ridiculously steep bank and thrashed about in woods for a bit. Farmer was in field to SE so didn't hang about. 5 mins. | Mark Jackson | 05/09/2023 |

From lane to south; which would be a good place to lay an ambush. | Wycombe Wanderer | 26/12/2019 |
Really unclear to us where the HP was, so we just walked about in the woods for a while. Nice enough, but probably the least interesting hill of the day. | sjb | 05/10/2019 |
Walked up woodland from gate at W corner to HP in Birch Wood. There was a gap roadside just ESE of gate and little tracks in the wood. A very disappointing summit for the nice countryside around- purely for baggers. Returned via the Tysoe road and 4WD track on N then NW edge of wood but the top to N was covered in dense crop so didn't bother | pwheeler | 12/07/2019 |
6th Tump of 11 on a 46.3km traverse from Goldicote bus. park to Banbury climbing Rough Hill,Idlicote hill, Castle Hill, Brailes Hill and Mine Hill, descending East on fp to Holloway lane then shortcut over fields NE to fp then North over 195m contour over road and continuing following field edges then back onto fp past Hill barn, veering off direct for summit. I recorded 228m @ SP 34168 40857 and the same again @ SP 34129 40922. Descent NE to minor lane, heading for Epwell Hill... | Dazingdale | 01/06/2019 |
From hp on road to S. No fences and grass just cut. | GordonAdshead | 25/05/2019 |
At the NW foot of the hill Henry VIII often stayed when visiting the splendid red brick Tudor County house of Compton Wynyates. There is an odd dead end 1mile long public footpath that leads to the gates of the house, where a sign tells walkers to now go back the same way. To the NE of the hill lies Broomhill Farm with the county border skimming round their buildings placing them in Oxfordshire, with their fields and this hill across the road are in Warwickshire. | Chris Pearson | 27/03/2019 |
Both hps from spot on road to the south, opposite woods. This is my first bag in January I realise. | KC | 08/01/2019 |
