From Lower Shuckburgh, parked by church and on ROW as Skip, then on to Napton Hill. The entire route on lanes or ROWs through grazing land, OK underfoot. Well managed, pleasant walking, good views. Return via towpaths- there, management appears to be reactive, patching up when they crumble into the cut. With Pete on a sunny day but with views of an impending storm out to the W.pwheeler26/12/2017

Up and down from west, slowing down a running descent to not startle cattle and calves, which were startled anyway. Great long views to nowhere in particular over flat country to NE.Chris Pearson13/05/2017
Bagged as YSM346 Fox Hill. Even though we had a log telling us not to do it we followed the sat nav which took us a silly way and also had to open and close 4 gates on a wee road to a farm, where we found a spot to park. Then walked by house and followed ROW up through the fields of new wee lambs to the pillar on a cold morning. A good start to day 4 of the mad trig bagging trip.thejackrustles24/04/2017

Circular walk from Braunston along canal to Lower Shuckburgh, up to summit, back along paths to Flecknoe and then Braunston.DanTrig25/01/2015
My local hill - I've walked over it hundreds of times. A footpath runs north-to-south over Beacon Hill giving access from Halls Barn Farm (south of the hill) or from Lower Shuckburgh (north of the hill). Combining the footpath with the gated road between Lower Shuckburgh and Halls Barn (plus a hundred metres on the A425 linking the path and gated road) gives a circular route of just under three miles with fine views over the Leam valley.Skip16/10/2014
