I was tempted to drive up the service road from the north as the barrier was open, however the dangling chain and shiny padlock persuaded me to drive round to access via housing estate on Simmons Way to the West. Very muddy path across open ground then even muddier path uphill through wood. HP is inside inaccessible fence area around reservoir. Could well be man mad but stood on highest ground on western fence boundary.mntainman16/02/2024
I walked around the perimeter of the fence looking for a weak point and found one. At 81783 91800 two of the metal uprights are loose and you can easily fit through. The exact GR given seems to be in a bramble patch half way down a bank which I went to and also walked around the top parts of the bank.clivevilla21/07/2022

Parked in Simmonds Road Across Millennium park to the fenced area. Walked around the perimeter and took the final photo at the Canadanian memorial. 2 of 5 todayChinnockC26/09/2020
Parked at entrance to Shooting Ground to NNE. Circuited the compound, as others.PGCE11/08/2020
As per Campbell Singer, mudfest.Bramley28/01/2020
Walked up to the lane end and climbed up gate until head appeared to be (it was dark) above any natural land inside compound. Five padlocks on the gate as well as a barrier so they really don’t want people inside. Didn’t bother to enter but gate definitely climbable. Memorial to Canadian airmen nearby.Herbert Anchovy22/01/2020
Made obligatory loop of reservoir compound. To my eye, hp likely within fence, but difficult determine extent of man made works.maclrc08/01/2020
Decided to make a circular walk of this hill and Frieth Hill (qv). I'd never visited either when I walked regularly in the Chilterns, having thought the area btw A40 and B482 unappealing. This walk from Lane End confirmed my prejudice; a nice enough wood with the HP then scrappy by the busy B482. Improved after Moor End, on to Frieth Hill.pwheeler18/11/2019
En-route from Cliveden gardens to Nottingham on my 50th birthday! As others from the residential parking bay onto fp and through wood to circuit reservoir enclosure; there were 5 padlocks on the Spiky gate. Back the same way and onwards to Frieth Hill...Dazingdale17/08/2019
Lane from NNW to gates, then right round compound. Highest natural spot (trees there) seems to be within compound behind memorial, 25m E of gates.Aye Jimmy09/09/2018
From suburban housing, on signed path thru wood to reservoir fencearranc27/06/2018
High Wycombe - Widdenton Park Hill - Frieth Hill - Lane End - bus back to HW.Mark Jackson19/05/2018
Walked around secure CCTV monitored reservoir/aerial enclosure- appeared to be of similar height- parking on residential street. overcast. RAF memorial by gate ( Canadian crew, April 1945)Denise 24/12/2017
On foot paths from Lane End on a grey and damp morning. Satisfied ourselves with a walk around the reservoir enclosure which covers high ground on its E side. Nothing inside the enclosure stands out as a natural high point. Green Woodpecker sighting the high light of the visit.RichardM24/12/2017
Parked in Simmons Way. A Roos field and into pleasant woodland to secure compound.Campbell Singer09/12/2017
Did a circuit of the reservoir compound fence - Ground just to the E of the 203m SP, on the outside of the fence, seems to be the HP.DanMaisieBex02/10/2016
Short diversion from the Chiltern Marathon route which starts in Lane Endphilhythe11/09/2016
From nearby housing estate, did a lap of the compound.rhalstead13/03/2016
Lane End to Booker. Gun fire to SW did make me wonder whether it was open season on hillbaggers in Bucks.Smudge11/12/2015
Did a circuit round secure compound. Asked Thames Water guys for access - emphatically denied. Difficult to determine if HP is in or outside compound. OS spot height is on Northern of 2 covered reservoirs, so that doesn't help to determine true height of hill. Best elevation I clocked was 194m.jonglew04/12/2015

Up track from road to North. Walked round res. cpd.ngthack25/08/2015
Track to reservoir compound - circuit on path all around. Memorial to a Lancaster crew 10 m to left of compound gate. Drone of the nearby M40 may soon be quite as a competition to install noise reducing barriers is underway to be installed in 2016 - talk of pohotovoltaic cells in the barriers to produce energy?Chris Pearson14/06/2015
On a regular local walk of ours, have bagged it many times without even knowing it was baggable!wheresthepath26/01/2015
Easy parking just before motorway bridge. Walked all around the reservoir. Long perimeter for a reservoir.destaylor25/11/2013
