A tourist hot spot.Play2End18/01/2024
Parked on the road at the bottom of the hill and followed the footpath. Good views all round from the top with plenty of dog walkers about. Enjoyed the sunshine and information boards of the history of the site before heading back down and over to Newnham hillBuck29/04/2023
Car park has annoying and discriminatory height barrier.Martin R24/02/2022
From car park near top.PGCE09/11/2020
Car park near the top, then ramble on what used to be a huge field of antenna arrays for BBC World Service. Lots of open space for dog walking, but can't understand why there's dog turds and discarded poo bags on the paths when there's acres of space for dogs to go 'au naturel'mad_paddy18/08/2020
from carpark currently being upgraded to mast at top of hillcjo11/01/2020
Quick stroll from car park. Solo.Dangerous Dave11/03/2019
Easy walk from carpark on a cold bright afternoon with a sprinkling of snow underfoot.milimana23/01/2019
S side compound seemed as high as anything else. Handy dog walkers' car park nearby.jonglew19/11/2018

Solo. From carpark through access gate. High point seems near fence of the high security compound. Not the most delightful location. 1 of 5 Northants hills today: Badby Down, Arbury Hill, Big Hill Staverton, Newnham Hill and Borough Hill.Pete West16/09/2018

Walked up to summit from Daventry, not bad views towards Northampton and Coventry from top, Last hill of the day, bagged Crown Hill and Napton Hill before.DanTrig16/04/2018
Quick drive from Newnham Hill to car park just below summit field, very accessible, popular, a bit scrappy. No doubt the 2 hills would make a good run if you lived in Daventry and knew where all the paths went.pwheeler09/03/2018
Easy stroll from car parkColin Crawford09/01/2018
4th hill of 10 today on a relaxed car outing from Nottingham with girlfriend as driver, visiting Naseby Hill, Honey Hill and Ashby Grange Hill then through East side of Daventry to take road to the car park and then a sojourn via public access field gate to the miniature ridge leading out from the compound fence edge, recording 204m @ SP 58740 62051. I also wandered around a bit and it appears as though highest natural point is close to track a few metres SE of the highest point. Many dog walkers about today. We set off for Newnham Hill.Dazingdale30/12/2017
Parked in car park, descended to residential road at foot of hill to the west, then back up again to find summit beside compound as per other baggers. Several grassy lumps as contenders as highest natural point, which I wandered around.pdantic16/11/2017
Sunny morning.Dugswell206/08/2017
From carpark near top of hill, a favourite with dog-walkers it seems. High point is a ridge leading out of mast compound, under which are electric cables.Aye Jimmy06/08/2017
Bus to Daventry and easy walk up from bus stop at Westwaytrimarc231/05/2017
From 1932 the BBC Empire Service (later the BBC World Service) was broadcast from Borough Hill and the radio announcement of 'Daventry calling' made Daventry well-known across the world. This location for the transmitter was chosen as it was the point of maximum contact with the land mass of England and Wales. The first practical radar test which pinpointed a plane flying through the radio transmissions took place here in 1935. Luckily high point is just outside the one remaining transmitter compound.Chris Pearson23/03/2017
Large plateau of a hill top grazed by cows and with apparently free access to wander over. There's even a public car park at the top of the transmitter access road. Good views. High point on S side of service building enclosure.RichardM16/02/2017
From parking into field. High point is a ridge of earth running N to buildings.chrisbien07/10/2016
New high point I think due to recent embankment under which cable has recently been laid just outside west side of compound.Campbell Singer18/02/2016

Found RHW's mound and that's good enough.clivevilla02/11/2015
Parking by at edge of pasture frequented by dog walkers. HP near fence of to west of compound although probably man made.PeterD09/09/2015

Windy winter walk with sharyn/rubynell158305/01/2015
A metalled road open to the public leads to the radio station compound; there's a carpark 100 metres before the gates. The compound is on the summit plateau: the perimeter fence encompasses the summit. View over Daventry.Skip21/10/2014
Parked easily to west. Through stile and onto track - summit could be anywhere. Grasslanddestaylor03/10/2014
This hill was at one time an Iron Age fort and as such it must have been of major importance given its size. I have run and walked here on numerous occasions - also planned six orienteering events here over the years.JohnW30/04/2014
Easy walk from roadside parking. Could almost drive to the top if you wanted to.rhalstead26/04/2014
