Easy walk from Highfield Avenue. Nice edge of town feel: even cattle in the field below the summit.Wycombe Wanderer08/01/2023
Second time lucky for this one! Rare to be completely rebuffed but attempt #1 on the 24/11/22 was from the marked car park to the N. From the top of the cemetery grounds I could access the NE portion of the bridleway, but access was completely cut off by a 10-foot fence at 929097 preventing further southward progress. The ROW appears to have been rerouted, forcing 'north-bound traffic' along it to turn left (WNW) and come out at Beeches Farm. The second attempt on the way back from Wales was much simpler, parking on Ruskin Road to the E of the summit.Mark Jackson26/11/2022
Very easily from Wildtree Avenue (street parking)Tony S27/05/2022
Up bridleway from the school to the highest point alongside the compound. No sign of a trig in the dense vegetation.Moorponder23/05/2022
Arrived as school finished with lots of junior Wulfrunians (as citizens of the city are known) streaming out in all directions. I let things settle down a bit then simple walk on path. My first visit to the city which since the decline of its engineering base -noted for aerospace and bicycles (200 diff. firms!) has been trying to invest in its infrastructure and economy for the last decade after Lonely Planet harshly rated it in 2009 as the 5th worst city to live in on the planet In support of the council's current Black Country strategy review and action plans - to give things a boost - just last month the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities announced as part of the government's levelling up strategy, it would move its HQ and 500 jobs including those of senior civil servants, to Wolverhampton by 2025. When this was tried however with the ONS moving from London to Newport 90% of the staff resigned rather than move. Will it work this time?Chris Pearson23/03/2022

Parked at top of Ruskin Road. Path across play area. Turn right on path to summit.Bramley21/07/2021
Route as jonglew. ROW from E marked on OS map is incorrect and fence hopping is required. SoloRoguePulsar05/06/2021
Summit area has several enclosed reservoirs and aerials and appears very secure. Trig can be seen by climbing beech tree by apparent HP, but ground evidently much disturbed. Good views over Wolverhampton on a sunny winter's day.Denise 09/12/2020
Walked from Essington Hill. High point on W side of Reservoir enclosing fence where the track (RoW) has fenced anti motorbike constriction. Climbed the Beech tree for good view of the trig pillar on top of the S most tank. Good views W. Sunshine.RichardM09/12/2020
From SW. Good track.PGCE09/11/2020
From Northycote Farm car park. Through cemetery, out the back into a pasture then over a high gate. HP seems to be the beech tree that provides a good vantage point for the effectivey inaccessible trig pillar.jonglew18/12/2019
whilst trying to spot adjacent Trig pillar, which can be seen once i had climbed the beech tree and peered through the branchescjo27/10/2019

9 of 10 on epic 49.3 mile bike ride including church hill, wrens nest, Dudley castle, netherton hill, ridgehill, blackhill, wrottesley hill, tettenhall woods, bushbury hill and essington hill. Trig must have been hidden in the bushesThe-Z-Man15/09/2018
Parked at the school entrance. A short walk up to the summit. Good views. Cows also enjoying the views in a adjacent field.Play2End26/08/2018
1st of two tumps today This one a 3.2 mile out and back from Moseley Old Hall (NT). I took a track through woodland heading Sse then headed Sw on a footpath taking me to minor road and cemetery entrance, continuing along same line up between fences to reach corner near stone obelisk (poignantly,a teddy bear resides in the centre). I climbed over fence to cut across to footpath once over a gate then easily along to high point next to compound fence. A local man ssid there were good views of the Wrekin on a good day- not today, sunshine and snow showers every 15 mins. Returned to cemetary, this time climbing over a green gate in the fence then over a wooden fence. I took minor lane then bridleway near Northycote farm to rejoin outward route back to Moseley Old Hall.Dazingdale17/03/2018
Little walk with Minnie post op, from Northycote Farm parking, good path alonside Underhill lane to button island then easy up Bridleway to top, some reasonable views in places, mostly Sunny, cold wind & dry..apricorum16/01/2018
Made the same mistake as HA resulting in awkward exit from cemetery, easy after that to summit. Couldn't see trig on top of reservoir, too much foliage in summer? Returned via f/p leading down to Wildtree Ave., then back along road to carpark.Aye Jimmy24/08/2017

Parked in the country park car park. The bridleway has been diverted around the cemetery (and thus starts further to the SE than shown on the map). I made the mistake of trying to follow the route shown on the map and found myself trapped within the cemetery which was enclosed by an eight foot high fence. Fortunately there was a gate I could climb to save myself back tracking (it wouldn't have felt like a west midlands hill if there hadn't been a fence to climb). Short but pleasant stroll thereafter to the high ground next to the compound.Herbert Anchovy04/07/2017

From Wildtree Avenue, along BW. HP outside compound by fence.PeterD23/10/2016
Having asked the local kids if there was a secret way in to the compound (they'd know and there is not) I settled for spotting the trig from distance. The natural ground outside the perimeter is unremarkable.stig_nest21/04/2016
