Awoke at 1:00 am whilst sleeping awkwardly in the front of the hire van at Milford (braking the long Cumbria to Sussex drive). Bright full moon shining and with no wind or cloud I decided to set off now rather than wait for dawn and forecast cloud. I had high hopes of seeing the start of the partial eclipse of the moon (by the earth) but alas too soon at 1:00 am (and then cloudy later on at 5:00am) Non-the-less a beautiful night for a walk up through the woods on wide sandy paths with minimal use of torchlight. Plans to add Berry Hill thwarted by 'some shenanigans' going on at Punchbowl car park at 1.30am am with lights and loud voices. I backed away whilst still in the shadows and retraced my steps up over Oat Hill and went and climbed Satnall Hills before back to the van for 2 hours sleep then out again for Berry Hills whilst still dark.Chris Pearson19/11/2021

Descended Satnall Hills to the W then picked up the track across the road. Fought through head-high ferns to get onto a good track which led all the way to the top. With Toby and Huey.Wheelsy14/07/2021

Summit's covered in thick heather and the highest point's not easy to find, but good paths and parking at the Punchbowl carpark. Bagged after Berry Hill and a scenic 10km walk through the Chase, then on to Satnall Hills.SootAndShale28/03/2021

Used the car park N side of road... for some reason. S side would have been more practicable. Clear tracks to summit area, after which there's some very rough ground to negotiate only to discover a HP cannot really be dtermined. On to Berry Hill.jonglew17/08/2020

5th hill of 7 on a route from Astonhill Farm bus stop on the A34 to Little Haywood, climbing Peasley Bank as an out and bank and then continuing to climb Upper Park and Hopton Heath and Satnall Hills descending to the main road and then picking up a trail heading up through the Punchbowl with the last 100 metres a roughish route up to find the top in a Heathery/bilberry mix close to some immature deciduous trees. Descent onto a track heading for Berryhill...Dazingdale24/11/2018
