Logged Descriptions  (logged by 26 users)ByDate of Ascent
I walked along Old Burcot Lane (absolutely no parking). Then I started up the Ashborough Farm road, turning right 200m before the farmhouse: a tarmac road all the way to the top. No gates, no fences, no hedges, no dogs, no people.Pete R12/11/2023
No pigeons. Big scatterbird contraption, tempted to send to Mariupol defenders.Martin R22/03/2022
Best to avoid the N slopes around Lickey End Recreation ground (unless you want to try the rope swing for all ages) as water voles breed successfully thanks to conservation around the stream. Also The particularly thick Midland hedge has been deployed here through layering to encourage bird life. Better to follow others from the loop layby to the NW although worth carefully noting whereabouts you emerge into the summit field for the return turn off.Chris Pearson13/12/2021
Made the effort to get here.Play2End01/10/2021
As jonglew: Parked on the loop off the Alcester Rd (SO 9772 7198). Took the RoW heading SW for a very short distance, then headed up the hill over wet, long grass (faint path), to the arable field at top of the bank. Followed field margin until veering off into the field forthe HP.PGCE08/08/2021

Cycles locked in free car park,Lickey End Nature park to NW of hill, (where stream crosses road). Up steep bank across horse fields to cropped field with domed summit near two masts and wooden barn. HP unmarked but reasonably obvious.Denise 05/05/2020
From the NW. Steep road bank, field of horse pasture, woods. Levelish summit with wooden barn and masts. high point in arable crop. Good views.RichardM05/05/2020
From PROW then up field boundary to mast and storage shedscjo29/04/2019
1st of 5 tumps with Lesley, also visiting Hanbury Hall. Parked up at the Lickey recreation ground where Lesley was content to read her book, scrambled up a bank, over fence, across field then skirted woodland entering via track then up through bracken to squeeze through hawthorn trees, nettles and brambles to climb over b/w fence to reach building and mast. Two high points recorded, 159m in front of building @ SO 97443 72212 and also at 159m on the other on the other side right beside the rectangular brick water reservoir @ SO 97452 72186. Mast is lower. Thick undergrowth has enveloped the side of the building. Re-traced steps but on return crossed Spades Bourne Brook via fallen Willow tree then squeezed past gap between wall and hedge to get back onto the road and back to the car park. Onwards to Burcot and Caspidge Hill....Dazingdale08/09/2018
Up the Farm track from the south by the red bollard.vegibagger07/01/2018
From lay-by to the SE, fp SW and under the single strand bwf just before Old Burcot Lane. Then easy walk up field boundary.milimana07/01/2018
From large layby to the SE, entered rough field at f/p sign then took direct line up to top of wood. Under fence then followed field edge to top of cabbage field.Aye Jimmy09/11/2017
Parked in large lay-bys and then up track to new building and upwards through nettles and brambles directly to mast. Hp at edge of adjoining field. Descended down side of field towards these and then broke through to ffp to reach lay-bys. Total disaster. Shoulder high nettles everywhere. The tracks shown to south from the lane looks a better option. Won,t be doing this one again in a hurry.Campbell Singer12/07/2017
Parked in layby to SE. Up through rough grassland and scrub to edge of arable field. Then turned right along field edge and tram lines to top.Herbert Anchovy05/04/2017
From Layby via FP to SE initially, then around field edge to HP.PeterD21/08/2016
Parked in Lickey End: Footpath over field leads to big field: Following field edge up, met a friendly man with gun, hiding in hedgerow shooting pidgeons having laid out several decoy birds in the field.GordonAdshead06/02/2015
From Lickey End Park car park. On road, over gate with barbed wire on top and around to top by mast.arranc04/02/2015
From NE, field edges. Edge of ploughed field by old barn and comms mast.RHW31/08/2014
Parked in Lickey End Nature Park car park, walked up the road, climbed and barbed-wire topped gate and got up quite easily. However, as (with the gate) it seemed like trespassing so went back following field edges to the NW. Don't do this as there is a house with four aggressive and unattended dogs including a rottweiler who did not like me being there.clivevilla14/05/2014
