Logged Descriptions  (logged by 43 users)ByDate of Ascent
Nice start to a day's Tump bagging as it entailed a short walk from Cashes Green via the grassy E ridge. Returned via Far Westrip- huge farm. Lots of well used RoWs and a few more paths- good views, esp. interesting along the Stroud valleys.pwheeler25/07/2023
Parked in Ryeford Lane N and followed the Cotswold Way NE and branched off towards the top. Returned more directly down sunken lane.milimana09/06/2023
During a 5 day hike doing the Cotswold Way. Short walk up the hill from the Cotswold Way. Had lunch on the bench near the top.fosal2906/07/2021
Parked in Far Westrip road. Initially on Cotswold Way, then footpaths to summit and return past farm.PGCE29/03/2021
HP on attractive woodland path, no views. Not sure why Cotswold way avoids this.Denise 19/05/2020
parked in housing estate to SE, walk through fields which were awash with clay and mud as new water main being installed across area. summit in tree Ridgelinecjo27/12/2019
Hardest part was finding place to start. Eventually took f/p from SO 8104.0567, narrow at start soon opened up into fields, then into wood.Aye Jimmy22/06/2019
Parked in Verney Rd. To the top end and then turned right before first new house onto fp. Several options re paths to the top through pleasant mature woods.Campbell Singer17/07/2018
Stroud to Stonehouse. Sunday evening chips in Stonehouse very welcome on a cold day while waiting for train.Smudge25/02/2018
From end of Verney Road . ROW to right . Up into pleasant woods and past old quarry to HP.Mark Sims20/07/2017
Parked in Verney Road and up on to the common. HP is then on the ridge to your left.clivevilla23/11/2016
Our closest tump. Approach from the east, spent longer walking through the housing estate to get to it than walking up the hill!eyesofthenorth21/02/2016
From W, path from Verney Rd, not too steep or muddy, good winter option. Heavy rain on descent, soon passed.RHW20/02/2016
Surprisingly nice hill considering its built up on 3 sides. Lots of public footpaths giving multiple starting locations, I started my ascent from near Storehouse Station. The summit is in the wood not to one side as the map would suggest.Swindon Bagger25/10/2015
Parked in lane behind Stonehouse railway station. Nice walk across fields with summit located in wood.Ramblingpaul04/06/2015
Early evening stroll with dog from Ryeford along CW and then steeply up left. Good view before you get into the trees.PeterD23/05/2015
From Ryeford, Cotswolds way then footpaths to top.rhalstead29/03/2015
Third tump of day, first of the day in Gloucestershire from the north farm.vegibagger29/03/2015
Nice walk up on good paths. 4 fallen trees across path with room to walk underneath.arranc18/02/2015
I managed to drive over the railway bridge and park near an orchard from where there was a wet slippery path to the top. Lots of fallen trees to limbo under. I think the top has been quarried creating a crater. I thought the highest point might have been on the west side of the crater but there was another potential high bit further east. Couldn't see one from the other due to trees so hard to be sure.Herbert Anchovy14/01/2015
Easy access, partly on Cotswold Way LDP. FB over rly line currently closed, but we went over it anyway. Wooded top; HP to E of large depression near summit.jonglew19/12/2014
