Parked in large carpark of olde greene manne pub. Walked up Park Close. Short scrubby woodland to Moor Park golf course. Wet day almost dark, no golfers. Visited specified GR and 15th tee ( unnatural). | Denise | 11/12/2021 |
Golf course deserted late afternoon on a wet dark December Saturday. Easy parking in the large Ye Olde Greene Manne pub car park. | RichardM | 11/12/2021 |
Early evening ascent, in the dark. Parked on access road, shortly before arch - space for two cars. | PGCE | 30/10/2020 |

Train from Aylesbury to Northwood, changing at Rickmansworth then 331 bus to Ye Olde Greene man stop near pub then a short walk through archway up via edges of nearest green to scoot across past another high point near bunker then natural ground with trees to highest point on green. Trees and green looking beautiful in the sunlight with frozen grass and leaves underfoot. Continuing for Potter Hill... | Dazingdale | 19/01/2020 |
From far end of pub car park. Very quiet early morning | Bramley | 29/08/2019 |
bagged while cycling from shenley to south oxhey along with shenley hill and potter street hill | The-Z-Man | 12/06/2019 |
My wife sat in the car in Park Close (no parking signs & security cams in this affluent road, so thought she'd best be ready to make a getaway). I cut through the woods, scrabbled up the steep bank, skirted a boggy hole & sprinted about like a loon to various possible summits on the golf course (fortunately no golfers about, despite being a sunny Sunday afternoon). Agree that the banks by the 15th tee look visibly the highest. | wheresthepath | 22/02/2019 |
Tried to approach from Rickmansworth station and ended up having to come along the golf course main road (ignoring the rude 'NO WALKERS' signs right next to a footpath sign.
30km run Rickmansworth to Ikea Wembley via Batchworth Heath, Potter Street Hill, Harrow on the Hill, Sudbury, Horsenden Hill and Hanger Lane. | Fionalevey | 09/12/2018 |
from the pub, on narrow path to golf course. | arranc | 28/06/2018 |
Walked across the heath from the south, through the golf club arch and mucked about a bit on the fairway to the left. By eye the high point seems to be a bank protecting a bunker at 07874 92652 but, of course, this is man made. | clivevilla | 26/05/2018 |
Friendly fourball confirmed that the hp is the new 15 th tee. | Campbell Singer | 29/03/2018 |
Walked up from Astons road via orange juice at pub, then strolled up gap between houses and trees from Park Close onto golf course skirting edge of woodland onto some bumps then 15 th tee and also ground that looked just as high to the WNW about 150 m away and another few high points, returned back via 15th tee and stopped every now and then to watch golfers chipping into greens. Back via the arch where there is a sign saying walkers not permitted. I recommend walking in trainers and no ruck sack. So vegibagger, I have now completed Herts - my home county!! | pdantic | 28/09/2017 |
Parked across from the pub then had a look at the bumps around the 9th green and the 15th tee. I then found the cut mark on the pub. | Dugswell2 | 06/03/2017 |
Walked up from Northwood then onto Golf course via Park Close and footpath | rhalstead | 28/01/2017 |
From end of Park Close to 15th tee. Could have gone through Golf course archway. | PeterD | 27/11/2016 |
Parked in Park Close... wander through the small bit of woodland, up the short bank and break out of the undergrowth on to the golf course fairway. I head right to the flag and the two mounds behind the green. Realise then that high point on map is still a bit further NE and up on to the15th tee. This I reckon is the summit.it's my first Hertfordshire tump, but the only one of nine that pdantic hasn't yet visited for his completion. What's kept you Phil? | vegibagger | 18/10/2016 |
Think the summit is somewhere near the 15th tee | Swindon Bagger | 27/08/2016 |
3hr walk from Northwood to Stanmore. Good views to north but highest point is within grounds of golf club. Not the best choice for a summer evening when the place was swarming with golfers! | Mark Jackson | 12/08/2016 |
Last of Herts. today. Then to Blow's Down & Cent. Beds. recompletion. | ngthack | 24/07/2016 |
Parked at end of Park Close, private road with 'No Parking' signs. Through scrubby woodland to golf course. | jonglew | 04/12/2015 |
Last point in Herts: Parked at end of smart house road, just S of top. No trouble walking N through woodland. | GordonAdshead | 12/08/2015 |
One and half hr evening walk from Northwood Hill tube via Potter Street Hill then passing Northwood military HQ -home to a bewildering range of functions;1) Joint Forces Command (2) the Permanent Joint Headquarters (3) the Multi National Headquarters (4) the Commander Operations for the Royal Navy and (v) the NATO Allied Maritime Command. Footpath led through housing to a dusk foray onto the Batchwood Heath golf course for Tump high point and a speedy exit around the greens direct down to Moor Park tube pleasingly at the outer limit of my Zone 6 Travel Card. | Chris Pearson | 29/06/2015 |
Rickmansworth to Moor Park: Had to sidle past gatehouse into Golf Course to reach the 118m spot (tee) on tree skirted earthwork. | Smudge | 19/12/2013 |
Drove down private? lane as describedby others. Dark and lots of security features. Brief stop on apparent high point to get out of car, and then back in again quick, and off. | nordicstar | 16/10/2013 |
