From the layby on the southbound A38 southwest of here, along the side of the A48 and then right along the first part of the track to the high point | Mariana Trench | 17/03/2023 |
Parked by sharp bend on Itchingham Road and then walked NW on bridleway, which was pleasant enough, to the top and both road verges, which were less so. | milimana | 28/11/2022 |
On walk from Alveston to Abbey Hill and Milbury Heath. Still can’t work out if top is in middle of road, or beside FP after gate. | PeterD | 23/08/2022 |
Pleasant walk from the Thornbury leisure centre car park. I thought the hedge line on W side of Abbey Lane stood reasonable chance as being the high point. | RichardM | 04/04/2021 |
Parked on minor road to SE and walked up track. | Tony J | 23/01/2021 |
Squeezed car into entrance to track. Continued to Milbury Heath. | PGCE | 05/01/2021 |
On way to Garden Centre at Milbury Heath | dicky | 06/07/2020 |
Parked where Jubilee Way crosses A38. Summit could be road verge just NE, or by bend on JW track through gate just to SE. | Aye Jimmy | 30/06/2019 |
Parked just to East of footpaths on main road near summit. | David Evans | 16/03/2019 |
Parked near the top and walked around a bit. | clivevilla | 10/10/2018 |
An easy bag that enables me to disentangle myself from a lengthy MG touring rally. | mrs_ts7 | 22/04/2018 |
2/3 (MIlbury Heath/Abbey Hill/Kings Weston Hill) | Fergalh | 10/10/2017 |
A drive by. Detoured off the M5. | Play2End | 14/09/2017 |
Parked in layby for short walk. | rhalstead | 25/03/2017 |
Just to be sure I don't have to come here again; checked out the path to the south, central reservation and path to the north. | DC11main | 17/03/2017 |
As my Tardis was in for repair I arrived by car, unlike 'The Doctor' who in 1976 materialised here (
in the quarry on the east slope). His mission was slightly trickier than summit bagging as he had to defeat 'The Hand of Fear' which had taken over nearby Oldbury Nuclear Power Station -where it gained power from radioactivity. Happily, with the help of his assistant Sarah Jane Smith, he was successful and all is now calm in these parts. | Chris Pearson | 06/02/2017 |
Got out of van, to avoid accusations of a drive-by bagging. | ngthack | 29/07/2016 |
Parked then stroll to east side of road. | Adrian | 16/01/2016 |
A drive over summit is in the middle of the road. | Swindon Bagger | 25/10/2015 |
Drive by. | arranc | 19/08/2015 |
Short walk fro car.
Either behind gate or middle of road | PeterD | 16/05/2015 |
Brief stop on pleasant way home from Bristol before rejoining the M5 at J13. | GordonAdshead | 25/03/2015 |
Parked on south bound road verge by track. Not much to stop for really as high point does seem to be on the road. | Herbert Anchovy | 14/01/2015 |
Summit probably on A38, but could be on either side. | jonglew | 13/07/2014 |
Top appeared to be on refuge in middle of A38 where Jubilee Way crosses. Path all way from parking area to South | Bramley | 05/10/2013 |
Wandered up middle of central reservation and up track to the east that looked like it may be marginally higher. However also noticed there is a 109 m spot height 1.8 km east and 1.3 km north in the middle of a grassy field, a much more satisfactory summitt site. Need the tamperers in with their expensive equipment. | vegibagger | 06/09/2012 |
unexciting. Tk just E of A38 gate; can park briefly just to N | RHW | 22/06/2003 |
