Logged Descriptions  (logged by 30 users)ByDate of Ascent
At the foot of the hill sits mere Hall - a Grade I listed timber framed Tudor manor house built c.1560, along with its parkland and octagonal fishpond. Presumably over the centuries, pheasants and deer and the like from the steep woodlands on this hill have ended up on the dinner table there, and maybe still do judging by the pheasant feeders in summit wood. Is the hill's name for the lady of the manor? Melting ice and mud today giving a horridly messy outing from the east in a cold wind. Even the sheep had been brought in to the big barn, as little nutrients in any remaining grass.Chris Pearson11/01/2024

I actually parked below pt 77 on road- by Mere Hall Fm. Up to N of hedge as others but a bit fraught as farmer was out flail cutting. As he turned down the hill I walked up. Thought about leaving it 'til lunchtime which would have worked. He was down by the gate in his tractor as I drove past after my walk. Good views of the pleasant countryside btw Redditch and Droitwichpwheeler01/09/2020

4th tump of 5 today and the final tump before visiting Hanbury Hall with Lesley. I climbed Ashborough hill from Lickey End recreational area, Caspidge Hill from the garden centre in Burcot and Pipers Hill with Lesley from the car park to the North. I dropped Lesley off at Jinny Hill craft centre and parked up on the verge near a property NE of the top. I Accessed the field via gate then across to the woodland, over a bw fence then up through the trees to reach the high point near an Ash tree @ SO 95149 61595,recording 101m. I climbed over the fence and explored the concrete circular structure, recording 102m beside the Ash tree about a 1m from the structure. Descent as outward route, then back to the Craft Centre to pick up Lesley and onto Hanbury Hall before visiting Crutch Hill en-route to the M5....Dazingdale08/09/2018
