Happy to pay the easily avoidable entry fee as I had a nice 90 min walk visiting the tump HP and wandering round the meadows and arboretum, which is full of interest. Last hill on a very enjoyable driving and walking day between my home and my brother's home. Even the Oxford ring road was tolerable!pwheeler07/07/2023
Paid entry fee and had an enjoyable walk through the grounds. Great Autumn colours.davefh09/10/2022
Paid the entry fee and had a good wander around in 30 degrees heat.Alan Caine18/07/2021
Parked in lay-by 400m south of Arboretum and followed KC's route. The field boundary was fine but the rest was awful, in retrospect I should have just paid the entrance fee and had an easy stroll.DC11main11/07/2021
Used non-ROW from WSW - parking nearby. No signs saying it is a private road.PGCE25/05/2021
Parked in lay-by 400m south of Arboretum entrance. Along mown strip in edge of field then through hedge where others have clearly preceded me and picked way through wood and to HP.KC26/06/2020
During Covid 19 so Arboretum was closed. Parked at 54702 98622, round a crop field and over a fence into arboretum then a short walk up a path to HP.clivevilla29/05/2020
15.35 In breezy sunshine an hour after a heavy downpour. Had to fork out my £4 oap fee... Didn't have time to seek out a sneaky free place to get in. Had my mum and another friend waiting in the car. Its very quick. Less than ten mins from car park.vegibagger08/10/2019
Pleasant walk up with Peacocks & Red Kites. HP by pig enclosure, piglets were in another enclosure at the bottom of the hill.DanMaisieBex09/08/2019
2nd tump of 4 today after Wittenham Clumps. X39 bus from Shillingford to Newnham Courtenay then pedestrian route to the top via outskirts. I took the next bus into Oxford for lunch then the no.4 to Chawley for a 2 tump traverse to Wooton.Dazingdale27/07/2019
Friday afternoon 2pm, gates open, drove in and parked up. Nobody about asking for money. Short walk through trees to summit area.Aye Jimmy29/03/2019
£5.45 to enter Harcourt Arboretum ( Oxford Uni)- closes 16:00 and at weekends in December. Pleasant stroll in gorgeous autumn colours to the levellish top- a large sweet chestnut tree by a piglet pen; no views. Recommend Acer walk in Autumn. Curious peacocks.Denise 08/11/2018
Paid our £5:45 entrance fee. Lunched under the lofty Redwoods and Japanese Cedar before a walk along Acer Glade in spectacular show of colour before heading up to the summit and piglet enclosure.RichardM08/11/2018
There are 4 Giant Redwood ' tump' trees here that exceed 30 metres with the tallest here being 40.5m tall. This is a mere stump however compared to the current tallest redwood (Hump)in California of 115.92 metres. 'Redwood World' ( yes there really is ) website shows 4 methods of measuring tree height, from using a clinometer and simple trigonometry to improvising with sticks held at arms length and swivelling your eyeballs upwards! A far cry from using Lidar for hill surveying. I gave the peacocks a respectful wide berth.Chris Pearson15/08/2018
£4.00 concessionaire entry. Unfortunately pushed for time, having played 18 holes at Dunstable. Hummock at west side of wood appears to be hp.Campbell Singer03/10/2017
Bus Oxford to Nuneham Courtney. 2nd bus stop in village is nearest then pleasant short walk to top. £4 admission for OAPs and Arboretum is worth spending a little time at.trimarc214/07/2017
£5 for a 10 minutes walk, very busy on a sunny Sunday afternoon.rhalstead09/04/2017
Still £3.50 OAP. Pleasant walk up to HP.arranc04/10/2016

Paid to get into Arboretum. Followed trails. Mound at HPPeterD27/05/2016
Culham to Greater Leys (Oxford). Pedestrian gate at S edge of village gives access to a permissive meadow path that takes a direct line towards (or in my case from) the summit area as well as the main car park. Arboretum closes @ 4pm during winter months - last admission stated as 3:15 but no problem encountered when I arrived at 3:30.Smudge29/01/2016
Paid £3 to get in the Arboretum (concession). With my brother & sister in law who live in Shillingford. This is their second closest Tump, after Wittenham Clumps. Ascent of partially excavated hummock quite tricky. Slippy after rain. Arboretum well worth a visit - some magnificent trees.ngthack27/08/2015
From Harcourt Arboretum car park, gravel paths to HP - a small earthen mound partially vegetative, partially excavated. Arboretum owned by Oxford University, opens 10am daily, entrance fee £4.50. Gates open at 9.30am this morning but no-one there to take any cash so free entry.jonglew15/07/2015
