We parked in carpark of Poringland Conservation and Fishery Lakes at the end of Hillside( off B1332, by pharmacy). (Sign says closed during darkness) We followed the path through the lakes and then scrambled up a steep loose vegetated bank to the unmarked HP on a sort of cliff above the lakes and at the edge of what will soon be someone’s back garden. The house is 95% complete but currently unoccupied. This house is at the end of Heath Rise, which is a continuation of Mill Street . The trig is obvious as a feature in a publicly accessible , new brick -edged flower bed on the south side of Heath RiseDenise 03/02/2023

Visited in the dark on the way to Poringland's fireworks. Housing estate now largely complete. After circling around the best approach was through the estate to the trig point in Heath Rise - against somebody's front garden wall. The hp is a short way further round on the road and looks to be in the last house's back garden. This house is 95% finished and surrounded by builders fencing. This was as far as I went but am claiming the bag.richard6905/11/2022

This area is now a building-site with most houses well advanced in their build. Doubtful if any access will be possible in future. Easiest route is to park in the Poringland Conservation and Fishery Lakes car-park (TG 2640 0255) at the end of Hillside - a cul-de-sac off the B1332. Follow path through lakes heading for high ground. Through gorse bushes, scramble up bank (loose sand and flint) to summit. This route is currently not fenced off but will be unavailable when garden fences are erected.Meanderer16/01/2022

As Chris Pearson. After an interesting visit to Venta Icenorum Roman Town.PGCE26/05/2020
5th top of 6 today on a Norfolk car bagging day, visiting Knights Hill, Mount Hill, Egmere Hill and Piggs Grave. I drove through Norwich and parked up in the fishing lakes car park. It seems that this area is being prepared as a community asset. Easy walk to gorse bank; netting is being used to stabilise the ground here. Scrambled up to the top and summit is right on the corner. Interesting pillbox on top too. Back the same way to drive to Highfield Hill...Dazingdale22/02/2020

From Hillside using Chris Pearson's excellent route some nasty gorse encountered in my wanderings.rogreeves01/05/2019
Pleased to reach the summit of this unusually named hill. I can confirm that the summit is correctly located as described on hb as behind the bungalow at the end of Mill Close. Ideally it would say ...end of ‘left branch, of Mill Close. The summit can NOT be reached from Mill Close BUT CAN be reached easily with public access from the SE through Poringland Fishing Lakes and nature reserve.( From the car park at the end of Hillside, head for the end pond called Noble then pick a way through the tress and scramble up the steep bank to arrive at the summit on a gorse bank above the very steep back garden of the bungalow and looking down across the waste ground with the lower trig out of sight around the fence corner. Current baggers are being misled I suspect by the summit photo and subsequent logs in heading for the trig pillar up the right hand branch of Mill Close and being stopped short by fencing, signs and cameras.(Photo now removed from hb)Chris Pearson22/04/2019

Wandered up Mill Close as far as permitted. Sneaked just past the Strictly No Admittance sign and then retreated. Mill Close has shiny new houses at its top end.Campbell Singer16/03/2018

Parked in the Ridings but no access from here with the busy development so walked round to access via Mill Close and a few private signs.Dugswell202/09/2016
Fortuitously met the owner as he was arriving at his piece of land he's fenced in which contains the trig pillar and the HP. He let me photograph the trig but nothing else and was very terse and uncommunicative.jonglew29/07/2016
