Start of a brilliant day out in Lowestoft. | David Bremner | 25/09/2023 |
Parked nearby. Didn't stay long as starting to rain. Uninspiring. Like others, the nearby Euroscope and Easterly cardinal point was more interesting. With Gillian. | richard69 | 16/02/2023 |
Parked on the summit. With Bev | simon and co | 11/02/2022 |
Uninspiring, in housing estate. 23 Steeple View seems as likely as any. Also walked around covered reservoir/ aerial enclosure. The two fundamental benchmarks to the south of the river are more exciting! | Denise | 10/01/2022 |
Suburbia hilltop with housing, covered reservoir and art deco water tower. Wandered around including a visit to #23 Steeple View. | RichardM | 10/01/2022 |
1st hill of 2 in Suffolk. Well documented top on Hill-bagging. Steeple view sounds quite charming; the reality is this is a bit dull. I saw one of the homeowners eyeing me up suspiciously as i was clearly parked in one of the residents bays. Fortunately their disdain was short-lived. Next stop Asda then Dunwich beach. | Dazingdale | 02/05/2021 |
TD, C & H - with furthest point E | This Dog | 04/06/2020 |
Visited No 23, then to Lowestoft Ness to complete the mainland Britain Cardinal Points. Most interesting thing was the Euroscope. | PGCE | 26/05/2020 |
No.23 must be thinking about joining neighbourhood watch with all these strangers that keep appearing fleetingly to look at their house. I also visited Hilltop Green,700 m to the west where sits a rogue higher contour circle on geograph; confirmed as an error by Lidar check by hb editors. Better highlights were an open Asda superstore on Easter Monday ( big mob around the £1 Easter Egg sell off). And the wonderfully tatty and sorry looking Ness Point, Britain’s most easterly point. All concrete and industrial and weeds at the end of Gas Works Road behind the Birds Eye potato waffle factory. (3.5 Billion made to date!). Next door is

scrapped junk including a decaying lifeboat. Next stop a new potential SIB in Great Yarmouth ( now landlocked) and then the Highpoint of the Broads National Park. | Chris Pearson | 22/04/2019 |
Almost a drive by. | rhalstead | 09/02/2019 |
As others 23 Steeple View seemed as high as anywhere else! | Fisky Boy | 19/06/2018 |
With Fisky Boy | Brenda Cloke | 19/06/2018 |
Had intended to include Ness Point UK's most easterly point but ran out of time walking with Codylecoyote from Pakefield along the beach & prom to give the walk some interest. | rogreeves | 08/06/2018 |
Wandered around, pavement verge opposite 23 Steeple View but on other side of road seemed as high as anywhere. | Aye Jimmy | 29/04/2018 |
No 23 seems marginally higher than Bourne road sign - just.
Suffolk completed without braking into a sweat. | PeterD | 12/04/2018 |
Whilt logging local trigmarks. | cjo | 01/04/2018 |
I agree that 23 seems the highest but does it really matter. A long drive to bag a county. Suffolk must be able to offer better. | Campbell Singer | 16/03/2018 |
Suffolk completed. Not a huge endeavour ! | ngthack | 22/09/2016 |
Had a good drive and walk around visiting Hilltop Green, Hillcrest Drive Steeple View and Bourne Road. | Dugswell2 | 31/08/2016 |
Took a wander round the area but difficult to determine a precise HP. Best guess was the road outside 23 Steeple View. | jonglew | 29/07/2016 |
Walked along the roads and a path. The 'Bourne Road' road name sign looked to be the highest point. | Alancache | 06/08/2015 |
Grass plot in Hilltop Grove. | arranc | 28/04/2015 |
Footway through from Hillcrest Drive to patch of grass at top of Hilltop Road. | GordonAdshead | 15/03/2015 |
Top is possibly on Hill Crest Drive | Ramblingpaul | 02/02/2015 |
Visited old grid ref not the revised location | RobertP | 27/12/2014 |
Somerleyton to Lowestoft. | Smudge | 14/12/2014 |
HP may be in a back garden but very flat area. Walked the relevant streets then ticked it. | RHW | 19/07/2014 |
