Round of 6 hills from Durisdeer. With GN. Easy walking and very enjoyable | trimarc2 | 07/03/2024 |
7 Donalds & 2 Donald Tops from Kirkhope Cleuch - Comb Law, Rodger Law, Ballencleuch Law, Scaw'd Law, Glenleith Law, Wedder Law, Gana Hill, Earncraig Hill, Penbreck & Queensberry. Very wet underfoot return over the Lamb Hill ridge. 19.5 miles | Gary Heath | 06/03/2024 |
First top of these three middle Humps visited on a walk over from Daer Reservoir to Burleywhag bothy. Clear, calm but grey conditions on top and a good midweek day to be out and about on quiet Simm summits. | Alex C | 19/02/2024 |
From Durisdeer for a round of Glenleith Fell, Wedder Law, Scaw'd Law, Ballencleuch Law, Rodger Law, Comb Law and Meikle Shag. | rhalstead | 26/08/2023 |
Circuit from Kirkhope of Rodger, Ballencleuch & Scaw'd Laws, Glenleith Fell, Wedder Law & Sheil Dod. Pretty easy going except for descent along the Carsehope Burn, which was a bit rough. There were a lot of vehicles on Gana Hill, presumably out for a shoot. | sclater | 25/08/2023 |
Straightforward on track from Durisdeer. Onward to Glenleith Fell. | Crumblie2 | 06/08/2023 |
The Google Maps suggested route to Durisdeer was awful, this is the route via the ford, it wasn't the ford but the huge potholes that were the problem. Would suggest taking the longer route. Followed tracks the whole way up to Glenleith Fell, Wedder Law and back the same way to Scaw'd Law. Then a pleasant walk to Ballencleuch Law and Rodger Law. Long trek through boggy and peaty ground to Comb Law which was pleasant enough once you got up there. Followed Kirkstane Grain down to Sheepfold, waded across the stream (boots just about dry though) and then took the Roman Road (very pleasant) back to Durisdeer. Didn't see a single person all day. | tsharp | 10/05/2023 |
Started from Kirkhopecleugh at Daer. Comb Law, Rodger Law, Ballencleuch, Scaw'd Law, Wedder Law, Gana Hill and Earncraig Hill before dropping to Daer Head and the long walk back along the track (15 miles) | jigglybones | 16/10/2022 |
On good tracks from Glenleith Fell. Solo. | Dangerous Dave | 11/10/2022 |

Circular walk from Kirkhope Cleuch (Daer Reservoir) to Comb Law, Rodger Law, Ballencleuch Law, Scaw'd Law, Glenleith Hill, Wedder Law and Shiel Dod. | RobB | 27/04/2022 |
Parked at the end of the forest on the Daer Reservoir road, following a grass track along the forest line to a wall and fence that climbs to Comb Law. An ATV track aids continuation to Hirstane Rig and Rodger Law. Over to Ballencleuch Law then fence/wall line to Scaw'd Law. Once down the south flank a stone track heads up to Glenleith Fell and Wedder Law and Shiel Dod. The track continues to Daer Water and the Reservoir road. 4.5hrs. | summitter | 08/04/2022 |
Daer Reservoir Donalds, parking at Kirkhope Cleuch around midday on Saturday 2nd April, I headed up Coomb Law (645m, Donald), then around to Rodger Law (688m, Donald Top) & along to Ballencleuch Law (689m, Donald & Graham). Then Scaw’d Law (663m, Donald), some heather bashing to get ‘directly’ to Glenleith Fell (612m, Donald Top), followed by a track to top of the Glenleith Burn & up to Wedder Law (672m, Donald), I carried on to Gana Hill (668m, Donald) and down to the Burleywhag Bothy, where I camped & chatted with 3 guys who already had the fire going inside. Sunday 3rd April, late / lazy start, up to Queensberry (697m, Donald & Graham), then via Penbreck & some peat hags to Earncriag Hill (611m, Donald). The plan was to follow the north ridge, over Lamb Hill & Over Law to Crookburn Farm, but I got feed up with the peat hags & descended west to ford the Daer Water and join the track to Kirkhope then the public road back to the car for 16:00. Great trip. | chillyman8 | 02/04/2022 |

Parking for a couple of cars beside Daer Reservoir, at corner of forestry just before Kirkhope Cleuch cottage (966 073). More parking nearer the dam if needed. Straight up to Watchman’s Brae, then Rodger Law, Ballencleuch Law, Scaw’d Law, (missed Glenleith Fell!), Wedder Law, Shiel Dod, before descending on a rough track all the way back to the reservoir and the car. A pair of massive black ravens soared overhead. | Toby-and-Dion | 04/09/2021 |
Indistinct summit in level grass and heather with all round views of wildness. We left quad track here to happily dry bog and up to Gana Hill. | Denise | 02/05/2021 |

Round of 4 Donalds using track from Kirkhope. | AndrewFinnimore | 29/04/2018 |
Fittingly from Durisdeer war memorial taking well made track up to just short of Glenleith Fell. Returned to track and followed to very near to Wedder Law before returning same way avoiding wet ground and angling up to Scaw'd Law from gate. Followed ridge to Ballencleuch Law with two minute stop at 11:00, then on to Rodger Law on ATV track. Bit of cross country from there to Comb Law descending to Meikle Shag and then over very wet ground to take the old Roman Road back to Durisdeer. The fort is very impressive. | SS | 11/11/2017 |

Third of the day. Flat top. | Play2End | 22/04/2017 |
Cotinuation of walk with J and F from Scaw'd Law, down track (hut removed at low point) and up track which was snowy high up. Turned L after gate and again (my first visit was 02/09/2015, when I continued to Gana and Earncraig Hills) did not find marker for summit point. Weather continued fine for descent to col for lunch in the sun! Returned along track passing routes out to SL on R and Glenleith Fell on L and dropping down track to Durisdeer. Third visit, including lunch, was on 02/11/2019, KHWC walk, I led five members, coming from SL and going on to GF. | jacobus | 06/03/2017 |

Solo; continuation of walk over Scaw'd Law and Glenleith Fell by dropping directly from GF to col 540 and up track to high point, leaving it to attempt to establish highest point on summit plateau - no marker found. Returned to cross track and drop S by fence to Thick Cleuch Moss and up onto ridge track leading to Gana Hill. A little misty at this juncture. | trienbrae | 02/09/2015 |
See Ballencleuch Law. Same comment re: summit as entry below though did find a small pilr of stones that might once have been a cairn. | dickscroop | 12/09/2014 |
Continuation of walk from Shiel Dod. Rejoined track and headed south-west to its highest point near fence. Then went for a wander on the plateau north of the track. Whichever spot I stood on, somewhere else looked slightly higher! Walk continued to Gana Hill. | Man of Kernow1 | 03/09/2014 |
