From Leskernick Hill then dropped to car by the Ford to the north | Adrian | 16/03/2024 |
From the NW, good parking at bend in road. Straight up, weaving around gorse. On to Leskernick and Buttern Hills. | jonglew | 19/07/2023 |
Parked at Westmoorgate for a circuit of 4 Tumps. Easy grassy terrain. Hendra Downs, Leskernick Hill, Buttern Hill, Bray Down. Also visited trig. | PGCE | 09/07/2022 |
Fourth top on a walk taking in Tolborough, Leskernick, Buttern Hill, Bray Down and Hendra Beacon from Jamaica Inn. After descending Buttern headed to the road near Bowithick, then went for the easy option of climbing using the track up from the east side. Cattle on the summit. More fabulous views. Headed directly south along the ridge to revisit the Leskernick stone circles, the boggy bits were reasonably dry. | thesweetcheat | 15/06/2022 |
From Leskernick Hill along with Buttern Hill. Trig and Tumulus HP. Easily back down to car at bend to NW. | PeterD | 21/05/2022 |

Embankment by ancient stone chamber slightly higher than nearby trig. Extensive valley views in a brief clear spell. | Denise | 11/03/2018 |
From Buttern Hill crossing the deep narrow stream en-route. Summit topped by what appears to be an ancient burial mound incorporated into rock outcrop. Good views, rain stopped. | RichardM | 11/03/2018 |
Parked at corner of road 183 827 near fords and historic bridges. Walked to top of Buttern hill prior to ascending Bray down. Fantastic never ending views on clear crisp day on both summits. | Hippy77 | 12/02/2018 |
Parking as moorman at SX 18358 82651 Buttern Hill > Leskernick Hill > Bray Down. Rough descent back to car from Bray Down. | David Gradwell | 13/09/2017 |
Very easy parking SE of Bowithick. Possibly sensible to include Buttern Hill on the same walk (2.54 miles for both of them). | moorsman | 17/06/2016 |
Continuation of walk from Buttern Hill. Descended ESE to cross marshy Penpont Water (would be difficult in spate). Then up by sheep- and wild pony-tracks to summit. Then descended through boulder field and gorse to lane. Followed this to West Carne, RoW and lane to South Carne (beware of farm dogs), then lanes to Trekennick and down into Altarnun, where I was picked up by family. Had intended to take RoW from South Carne to Trewint, but could not find the start of it, put off by farm dogs! | Man of Kernow1 | 31/03/2015 |
Popped in whilst out on DofE / geocaching walk. Bagged trig point too. | CornishGazza | 03/03/2012 |
