Part of a Blackcraig - Windy Standard round.MichaelF27/03/2019
P 600m E of Polskeoch, SUW & forest road till top of Polskeoch Rig, then new track over Ryegrain Rig to county boundary, back down over Meikledodd Hill & Lorg Hill, dilapidated forest track back to Polskeoch.agentmancuso17/12/2018
Parked by Lorg Bridge at the end of the Water of Ken road, although the last few hundred yards are distinctly bumpy. A steep grassy ascent to Ewe Hill's wire-bound summit cairn, then Ewe Hill NW Top, Alhang, Alwhat, Meikledodd Hill, Corse Hill with its mossy trig pillar, and back by forestry roads and a quagmire of a path through the trees to Lorg.Nick Down118/11/2018
Drove along rough track to derelict farmhouse then walked up track above Lorg Burn and up easy ground to summit.AndrewFinnimore27/09/2018
Round of Windy Standard, Alhang, Alwhat, Meikledodd, Blacklorg and Blackcraig.PGCE24/09/2018
Continuation from Alwhat, reaching fence junction and turning SE to arrive at high point of MH. Rain did abate, prompting removal of jacket only to put it back on a few minutes later. Came back to fence junction and continued on meandering fence to reach col with Blacklorg Hill, where contractors were installing pylon line runnig from Carsphairn to Sanquar. The access road dropping W down to the SE end of Afton reservoir looked inviting, so I planned to return to col after climbing BH, which took last reserves of my strength. Rain didn't let up. First visit to MH was solo on 08/08/2015, dry and coming from BH.jacobus20/08/2018
Along the fenceline, with a few twists and turns, from Blacklorg Hill. Passed under some Pylons, the only thing we saw in the mist. Not much in the way of footpath or quad bike track on this one - big harder going than others.nickywood119/08/2018
Crossed on circuit from Blacklorg Hill to AlwhatN.Morters14/07/2018
Loop of Glen Afton from water works (car park closed but plenty room) taking in Black Hill, Struther's Brae, Windy Standard, Alhang, Alwhat, Meikledodd Hill, Blacklorg Hill, Cannock Hill and Craigbraneoch Hill. Excellent walking though lots of new wind farm stuff (restricted currently as construction site).SS14/07/2018
Parking area beyond waterworks at 627055 & up Craigbraneoch Hill, Cannock Hill & Blacklorg Hill. From Blacklorg Hill, over stile & down ATV track to col - Over recently constructed service road & then up ATV track to unmarked summit. Continued to Alwhat & Alhang. (S)gerrybowes23/05/2018

Solo; walked SE from Blacklorg Hill along fence, first county then forest to find summit pole. Erroneously continued on forest fence but corrected after 5 mins when terrain in front and map did not agree; dropped W to col before Alwhat and went up back on county fence. Early mist cleared to give bright but windy conditions.seumas08/08/2015

Flecks of rain fell like hail.Along track to Lorg and uphill to visible horizon. Over trousers on for warmth. Around east side of Long Hill to shelter from vicious gale. Steady plod to a wire fence to north and to top. No cairn. 13.00. to Blacklorgarranc01/04/2008

Ewe Hill, NT, Alhang, Alwhat, Meikledodd Hill.agentmancuso19/10/2003
A cold but clear Christmas Day jaunt with Shaky from Glen Afton. Parked short of Craigdarroch & took higher of two tracks above waterworks. R branch at the fork up to edge of forest near Black Hill & then followed boundary over Wedder Hill, Millaneoch Hill to Windy Standard. At the time, wind turbines were a novelty(!) but the area is as good as ruined now. Curved generally E towards Alhang & on to Alwhat & Meikledodd Hill. With daylight running out we headed due W over rough stuff aiming at the Alwhat burn & forest firebreaks leading to track round reservoir back to the car. Met lady shepherd with dog on track who agreed that this was all much better than mince pies & booze in front of the telly!NotReallyABagger25/12/2001
