Lunch stop on Blackcraig - Windy Standard round; certainly needed it!MichaelF27/03/2019
Parked by Lorg Bridge at the end of the Water of Ken road, although the last few hundred yards are distinctly bumpy. A steep grassy ascent to Ewe Hill's wire-bound summit cairn, then Ewe Hill NW Top, Alhang, Alwhat, Meikledodd Hill, Corse Hill with its mossy trig pillar, and back by forestry roads and a quagmire of a path through the trees to Lorg.Nick Down118/11/2018
Round of Windy Standard, Alhang, Alwhat, Meikledodd, Blacklorg and Blackcraig.PGCE24/09/2018
Continuation from Windy Standard across boggy col and up NW shoulder, leaving fence to find pile of stones marking summit of A. Returned to follow fence along to Alwhat. Mist came in from S and dreich rain came on for the rest of the walk. First visit was solo on 08/08/2015, coming from Alwhat on a much better day.jacobus20/08/2018
On the way from Blacklorg round to Windy Standard following fence line. More of a trod on this one although rather wet after recent rain. Easy enough due to fence line in the mist. Finally a view over to some of Windy Standard where a farmer was working his sheep.nickywood119/08/2018
On circuit of Afton Reservoir.,N.Morters14/07/2018
Loop of Glen Afton from water works (car park closed but plenty room) taking in Black Hill, Struther's Brae, Windy Standard, Alhang, Alwhat, Meikledodd Hill, Blacklorg Hill, Cannock Hill and Craigbraneoch Hill. Excellent walking though lots of new wind farm stuff (restricted currently as construction site).SS14/07/2018
Parking area beyond waterworks at 627055 & up Craigbraneoch Hill, Cannock Hill, Blacklorg Hill, Meikledodd Hill & Alwhat. From Alwhat, followed a decent path along S. side of fence before heading across to the summit stones - Descended NNE back to col & then dropped down to sheepfold (some ATV tracks). From sheepfold, farm track through felled forest & then track along W. side of reservoir to car. (S)gerrybowes23/05/2018
S/F Water of Ken carpark (Campervan-friendly). Up forest track then easy to find way through trees up steep ground and onto summit. Combined with Blacklorg Hill.AndrewFinnimore11/04/2018

Solo; continuation of walk from Blacklorg Hill over Meikledodd Hill and Alwhat; summit stones are E off fence. Early mist had been blown away. Descended NW to Afton Water, near its source, had lunch and headed for F/B at S end of Reservoir; through wide break on track, turned L over bridge and followed track back to dam, going down a path to under dam and then track used in morning from P near Waterworks. Weather remained good if a little windy.trienbrae08/08/2015

Ewe Hill, NT, Alhang, Alwhat, Meikledodd Hill.agentmancuso19/10/2003
A cold but clear Christmas Day jaunt with Shaky from Glen Afton. Parked short of Craigdarroch & took higher of two tracks above waterworks. R branch at the fork up to edge of forest near Black Hill & then followed boundary over Wedder Hill, Millaneoch Hill to Windy Standard. At the time, wind turbines were a novelty(!) but the area is as good as ruined now. Curved generally E towards Alhang & on to Alwhat & Meikledodd Hill. With daylight running out we headed due W over rough stuff aiming at the Alwhat burn & forest firebreaks leading to track round reservoir back to the car. Met lady shepherd with dog on track who agreed that this was all much better than mince pies & booze in front of the telly!NotReallyABagger25/12/2001
