Parked at road junc, by covered resr entrance. Hopped the fence into the hill fort, better parking is available.jonglew30/03/2019

4th hill of 5 today on a route from Ashford turn to Moorhaven village, climbing Seven Stones Hill, Were Down and Woodleigh Hill, then descent Nw to the woodline then across pasture to rejoin the delightful path beside the Avon then fp Nw to Crannaombe cutting up w then Nw through the wood to join a track that leads to the minor lane beside Blackdown Camp. Onto the road that leads to the car park but shortcut over 2 fences to clmb to Toposcope on one side of the highest embankment and then a similar height on the Nnorthern side. Back onto the lane then across to the covered reservoir before continuing West to then follow B road North past California Cross, heading for Fowlescombe hill...Dazingdale02/02/2019
Small free public car park. Land owned by a Trust with public access. Interesting ancient embankments ? 400 BC reused by the Normans over 1000 years later. Topograph on summit. By bicycle. Great views. If hills could talk....Denise 22/12/2018

Walked around the hillfort and motte and bailey in the rain. The high point seemed to be in the Norman part of the site. However, the grid reference given is on the other side of the road so I also wandered around the area near the covered reservoir.Herbert Anchovy20/08/2017
