| When we asked permission to visit the golf club manager ( thanks) offered to take us there in a buggy and we set off at high speed admiring superb views. The trig is within a retained hedge but the nearby green is slightly higher - the manager advised us this was man made. | Denise | 10/08/2017 |
| On golf course, asked for permission to visit at the club house. Once the manager understood the reason for our request he enthusiastically offered to take us by golf buggy rather than risk us being hit by a golf ball. It was thus with 3 of us crammed onto the seat of a buggy we set off at speed bouncing over the fairways and greens. Sitting on the very edge of the seat injury from falling out seemed far greater possibility than any threat from golf balls! We were delivered to within a few feet of the trig point. Apparently this was the high point, the mound on the green to the S of the trig point is the result of landscaping carried out in building the golf course 9 years ago. Though only a few metres away it was another ride in the buggy to the new summit. Great views out to Plymouth Sound and estuary. In all an interesting visit to trig and Tump and many thanks to the enthusiasm of the club manager. | RichardM | 10/08/2017 |
