Ran from Withypool up to Withypool Hill across to Withypool Common. Then down to the River Barle which I walked through and up to Thornmeade Hill with a return along the Two Moors Way. It was a cloudy day with occasional brightness and a bit of drizzle. Time taken 2hours 15 minutes for 8 miles. No other people seen on the hills. Plenty of Wildlife including Raven, Buzzard, Snow Bunting, Robin, Snipe, Stonechat, Bullfinch, Chaffinch and Winter Thrushes.isabelle04/12/2017

I was dropped off at Withypool at the Royal Oak pub, this being my 2nd day walking on the Two moors way. I proceeded up the minor road (also the Exe valley way trail) and at the brow of the hill set off onto the bare hill climbing towards the summit. There seems to be several tumuli and therefore several candidates for the summit but I visited all of them. I loved the way the wind was blowing through the grass sending ripples through it. Beautiful views in particular over to Withypool common. I investigated the stone circle that is down on the shoulder of the hill although the stones are pretty tiny! Descent was via a track heading N and then North east to get back onto the Minor road and back into Withypool, before continuing on my Two moors way walk.Dazingdale23/03/2013
From rough lay-by on minor road to east at SS 84623 34605. Path is a strange broad swathe of short vegetation but very damp and soggy. We found it better to walk along the edge in the longer stuff. There's a decent cairn on the summit tumulus but highest point is rim of tumulus 15m W of cairn. We actually built a smaller cairn at this point.David Gradwell25/10/2011
