Parked in Nockatt Coppice car park. Got a bit messed up and ended up coming in from the west and then exiting via near the house. | clivevilla | 30/07/2023 |
Kingston Deverill to Warminster. Forest tracks from SSW & S gate into the narrow, wooded strip that leads to OS spot height. As others mention, there is a gap in the fencing (on both sides of the strip) close to Park Hill house. | Smudge | 18/11/2022 |

From heavens gate. Great views across longleat estate. Then along field edge towards Park Hill house. Gap in fence into woodland strip opposite house. | cjo | 21/12/2021 |
Revisit with Colin Crawford. | Chris Peart | 16/10/2021 |
With Chris as guide but top was so flat that the high point is very indistinct indeed. Heaven's Gate was much more enjoyable than the hill | Colin Crawford | 16/10/2021 |
Exactly as pwheeler. Great views at Heaven’s Gate. | Campbell Singer | 05/10/2021 |
From Nockatt Coppice car park. Popular stroll along made track in wide, landscaped ride to Heaven's Gate, then followed track to gates into field. Followed farm vehicle tracks along edge of field until level with house. Then left through open gate in deer fence to spot height. A relief to bag this- I felt very visible. Sat on bench back at Heaven's gate to admire the landscaping of Longleat Park and the house with my next tump-Roddenbury Hill - behind it. Beautiful late afternoon light. | pwheeler | 22/09/2021 |
Visited on way out from Longleat. | midlife_hiking | 18/08/2021 |
Indistinct point between two fences and lines of trees. Accessed from Heaven's Gate viewpoint- nice place to watch sun setting. Wild deer- hope those lions are secure!. | Denise | 25/04/2021 |
Vague high point in band of fenced woodland. Something of a disappointment after Heaven's Gate with its excellent group of modern standing stones, vertical 13 sided stone ring and fine views in evening sunshine. | RichardM | 25/04/2021 |
Via Heavens Gate this time - the PGCE route works well. Visited the given GR but not convinced. The sculptures at Heavens Gate are good for a bit of bouldering. | Chris Peart | 08/12/2020 |
From Nockatt Coppice car park. Just before gate to Heaven's Gate, right on old track to field. Along edge of field until level with house. Then left through open fence to summit grid reference close to a second fence. | PGCE | 22/09/2020 |
Parked in Nockart Coppice car park. Walked West to the view point then north using an old track through the wood with a deer fence guarding the summit field. Fortunately just West of the OS spot there is a section missing allowing access. | fosal29 | 14/02/2020 |

Parked at Nockatt coppice, went via prospect hill and viewpoint over Longleat house. Entered field from SW corner along field edge to HP. | PeterD | 06/08/2017 |
Considering quote a lot of penetrating topology on the slopes further around it on woodland and bits of Longleat safari park, the summit is a boring grassy field out in the open easily accessed from the eastern track from the road and fairly flat. | vegibagger | 25/07/2017 |

9th of a 10 Tump 26mile circuit from Warminster. After Roddenbury Hill skirted on row's around around Longleat Safari Park -with close views of the giraffes! (passing the giraffe keepers house in the woods). From the north up and out to level top before descending the steep Wind Hill mountain bike push up path alongside the jumps, curves and bumps of this popular downhill mountain bike venue. | Chris Pearson | 30/07/2016 |
Summit by fence n of straining post I reckon. From ESE via field edge past scaffolded house | RHW | 25/12/2015 |
Very flat and summit could be anywhere can easily be bagged on part of the estate with public access without needing to go near the house. | Swindon Bagger | 22/10/2015 |
As CP. I wonder if there is higher ground among the young trees on the other side of the deer fence? Looked fairly impenetrable. | Herbert Anchovy | 23/08/2015 |
Fallow grass field. Accessed from public car park. | Adrian | 02/08/2015 |
Parked at ST 83240 43102 (the gate was locked) and followed roads and tracks to the summit field. The summit seems to be near the fence line at the point where it has a slight change of direction. | Chris Peart | 14/01/2015 |
Entered Longleat at ST 83240 43102 and was able to drive right up to the disused farm house on the Longleat estate close to the HP circumventing the ticket booths! HP in grass field (silage crop) NE of the cluster of farm bldgs. | jonglew | 22/10/2014 |
