Did a trio of Moorfoot Donalds starting near Moorfoot Farm. Not too bad underfoot for September - could be awful though. The wind turbines are pretty scary. Not a place to linger.jigglybones18/09/2022

From Bowbeat Rig Head. Descent by north spur of Emly Bank; tedious initially then grassy track. Sat in the pleasant and sunny surroundings and ate my sandwiches then walked on track down the glen. 24 degrees on return to the car and rising. 3 hours 20 mins.Wycombe Wanderer12/08/2022

A windy and soggy day (both from above and below) doing Blackhope Scar and Bowbeat Hill from Gladhouse, ascending via the Kipps.Fife Walking12/03/2022
Parking at start of private road (NT329423), NW on forest tracks to junction at NT278472, then SE to join Bowbeat windfarm new road network - Bowbeat Hill, Bowbeat Rig Head and return same way - a long, long way of tracks. Windfarm signs suggest there is an East access road, but not shown on my map, so didn't risk itIsbjorn16/11/2021
From Eddleston, past Dundreich and boggy track to wind farm.the pigguy 20/10/2021
As others from Eddleston via Boreland & the track to Dundreich. Very wet & misty. Soggy tramp over to Bowbeat Hill & Emly Bank. Back by same route to dry out.NotReallyABagger05/10/2021

Trail Run, cold windy, wet, boggyHuwel13/12/2020
Crap weather all over, so I nipped up the Moorfoot Hills south west of Penicuik to get three Donalds. Accessed from the Gladhouse Reservoir I walked through Moorfoot Farm and past the ruined Hirendean Castle to ascend into a bog as I missed the track which would have bypassed this. The first Donald was Blackhope Scar (651m) which is also classified as Graham, then south west through a windfarm to the featureless summit of Bowbeat Hill (626m). More bog followed once clear of the windfarm then the cairn and Trig point on top of Dundreich (622m), from which there were great views of the hills above Biggar, then north of the Pentland Hills and Edinburgh. There was strong south western wind making it very cool at times, but dry all day, 5:15hrs all in.chillyman828/10/2020
From Eddleston. Nice approach. Dundreich, Jeffries Corse, Across the bog and windfarm roads to Browbeat, then dropped down to forest tracks. Headed out via Cardon Law. With B and R.jenx08/10/2020

A corner fence post is your summitLewis06/09/2020
Fortunately, I was dropped off at the south side of Gladhouse Reservoir, the car park has not yet been reopened by the water company after COVID and also there were lots of “warning plague” messages (which I assume had been put up during the height of lockdown by the villagers) as you entered Moorfoot but all was well. Up to Blackhope Scar, shrouded in mist, and then through the windfarm (ignoring the “No unauthorised personnel” signs). Bowbeat Hill is pretty insignificant being right next to a wind turbine. By the time I got to Dundreich the cloud had gone and there were 360 degree views of Edinburgh, Fife and the Pentland hills.tsharp16/07/2020

Parked by the church in Eddleston at 243472 & up Dundreich. From Dundreich, back down ATV track for about 270m before heading E. & then SE along a faint path/ATV track - Over fence by confluence of burns & then a short climb to pick up an ATV track which was followed to N. turbine - Along service road to unmarked summit. Same route back to car. (S)gerrybowes19/03/2019

Anticlockwise tour of 3 Donalds with Kirsty & Robert from Gladhouse; still clear at top with noisy turbines generating megawatts in the strong wind.barnz4802/09/2018
From Gladhouse Res out to cottage and up Hirendean Hill. Very dry making going good to Blackhope Scar by fence from The Kipps. Then across to wind farm and Bowbeat Hill before taking atv track towards Dundreich (bit of heather bashing but not bad). Return by Jeffries Corse and good track to Gladhouse Cottage.SS08/07/2018
From Dundreich joined Windfarm road and up to summit. Descended some tricky steep ground with deep heather and wet snow patches before getting back to good track down to Moorfoot and over to carpark by reservoir (good campervan spot).AndrewFinnimore20/02/2018
Round from Eddlestone via Dundreich.benalder28410/12/2017
Continuation of solo walk from Dundreich SE, after rough terrain onto track in windfarm. Reached summit of BH, close to a turbine and on a corner of fence. Going NE over Emly Bank and descending S to small building at S end of Esk track; lunched at fank, then trudged N to P. Weather kept fine with sunset as I reached car, next to Gladhouse Reservoir. First visit was solo on 02/01/2009.jacobus07/11/2017

Alone. Circuit from Gladhouse Reservoir.Grinner15/01/2017
7th hill of 11 today on a challenging route from Peebles to Leadburn with a circuit of the wind farm hills included. Route was Venn Law, Maisingland hill, Whiteside edge, Cardron Law, Hog Knowes, Bowbeat rig head and then using track to circumnavigate the hill before climbing onto the summit. I spent about 15minutes exploring potential high points. Great views over towards Edinburgh. I continued on track to end of wind farm land and fenceline leading to Blackhope Scar.Dazingdale05/05/2016
Moorfoot round. Cable drum at summit. One of the turbines shut down with a big whoomph, as I walked past.ngthack12/09/2015

Low cloud and noise from the wind turbines.Adrian26/04/2014
Part of afternoon round of three tops in reasonable weather after morning rain. I don't wind the wind turbines and as I was pressed for time due to late start I was happy to make use of the access tracks as a change from the otherwise very boggy ground.dickscroop04/04/2014
Solo. After ascending Blackhope Scar. Descended towards Bowbeat Hill using wind farm tracks once I got to the wind farm. Summit of Bowbeat Hill does not have a cairn and is away from fence junction where I had thought the summit would be. Joined wind farm track again to go to Bowbeat Rig Head. I think highest point is a little to the east of the track. Carried on to Dundreich.pwbellarby28/01/2014
