The trick is to find the little footbridge at ST 70185 41202 and then trust that the path will wend its way to the summit field edge. You might find this useful: wanstrowparishcouncil.gov.uk/your-community/footpaths/circular-walk-3-breach-woods-via-studley-laneMartin R25/10/2023
Parked at start of fp to ne. Over railway line and immediately into wood at stile. walkers welcome sign. Delightful path through the wood before an awkward bwf into field with docile cattle.Campbell Singer10/10/2021
From Wanstrow. Follow the BW for 200m after crossing the railway before a path heads off left.jimbloomer28/07/2021
As others, from Wanstrow. Several banks in and close to the hedge could be potential highpoints - thought the highest was just around the hedge corner by a tree.PGCE28/01/2021
as others, surprised at the good path inside the wood up the southern and western edge. came across a swing and several wildlife viewing platformscjo27/12/2020
From good parking at Wanstrow church. Usual route - path in woods stays within sight of edge of trees. Crawl under barbed wire is just over 100m from summit.mae04/09/2020
From Church in Wanstrow, unexpectedly pleasant woodland walk, local nature reserve with unmapped path on west perimeter. Summit indistinct on domed grass field, with good views west.Denise 22/06/2020
From Wanstrow over the railway and excellent woodland path to summit area. Gap under BWF into summit field of pasture. Good views. After frantic rustling a Muntjac Deer shot from the hedge only a metre or so from me.RichardM22/06/2020
As others from Wanstrow. Foot Path over railway line and up through wood on path. Crawled under a BW fence through a gap in the hedge to HP in pasture.fosal2907/09/2019
From Wanstrow, Row over railway and then followed path and tracks, past seat to field edge. Went to corner of pasture and then into next field.PeterD02/09/2017
From Wanstrow - parked at the church - there's a good path along the W side of the wood which takes you to a gap in the hawthorn hedge at the field corner.Chris Peart01/09/2017

The same route as other recent visitors. I think I picked the wrong path in the wood. It was fairly overgrown with pendulous sedge, not ideal in shorts when you're allergic to graminoids (legs swelled up and covered in an itchy rash), and boggy. Got there in the end and struggled through the hedge. Top in pasture on far side of another hedge. Chose to walk back around the edge of the wood instead of going through it. Nicer in my opinion although a little longer.Herbert Anchovy03/08/2017
Approached from footpath nr Beeches FarmAdrian13/07/2017
From NW as per JG, entered pasture easily at hedge line which I followed 130m to summit. Woodland is open access, good paths all the wayRHW24/04/2016
From Wanstrow. RoW over rly line, then picked up woodland track to field boundary. A little tricksie breaking out into large pasture due to maturing thorn hedgerow. Circled round looking for HP, seemed to be at field boundary concurring with OS 220m contour.jonglew19/11/2015
appropriately named I had a very dungy response in that my hill presence seriously upset two women. Parked at 692413. Walked track through farmyard but saw no one, continued through gate where track turns SE over a gate into grassy field up to the highest knoll in the field. Had just turned round to head back noticed a woman close to the summit striding towards me. Shouted a friendly 'Hello' as she got within earshot she said in a purposeful voice, 'Can I help you?' I said, 'Help me?' in a questioning tone, 'I'm not lost' though I realised there was clearly more agenda to her question. She immediately added, but you're on private ground and not anywhere near a footpath and we've just recently had TB on the farm and are on lockdown so very unhappy to see someone walking up this field that's being deliberately left grazing free because of TB. Calm but clearly very upset asked me to return round the very edge of the field to get back to the track out to the car. Avoid this route to hvegibagger03/08/2014
