Parked by reservoir and followed field boundaries to summit. No fences to cross. | PGCE | 19/11/2023 |
Somerset in high summer. | Wycombe Wanderer | 30/07/2020 |
Lane is suitable for motor vehicles despite sign to the contrary. Parked next to reservoir on verge. Very flat. | Campbell Singer | 10/12/2018 |
Used Abney to establish HP as not obvious on flattish area over 3 fields. Avon Wildlife trust land. Superb hollowed and gnarled oak nearby. Parking near reservoir. | Denise | 16/11/2018 |
From the E through Avon Wildlife Trust NR (As GA, amused by the paths to avoid mud). Lovely curving hollowed out oak at SE corner of reserve and gate into adjacent field of pasture where the OS spot height is marked. Would be far too easy were it not that the ground on the hedge line beside large tree in arable fields to SE is higher. | RichardM | 16/11/2018 |
Clutton to Whitchurch. Unintended second ascent (hadn't recalled previous visit) after two celebrations near Glastonbury earlier in the day. | Smudge | 28/10/2017 |

From the reservoir, through the weedy field, into the wheat field, where the high point at the far end appears higher than the land on the other side of the hedge | Mariana Trench | 05/08/2016 |
Parked by stile, space for one car. Surprised to see many others walking on FP. Spot height appears to be HP, but other contenders exist although from them HP looks higher. | PeterD | 24/04/2016 |
Just managed to park at style of narrow lane to the NNE. Amused to find - Alternative path to avoid mud. | GordonAdshead | 25/10/2015 |
11.30 after being stalled.by climbing the non listed volcano shaped Bing of Midsommer Norton. It should surely be on the tump list. | vegibagger | 04/08/2015 |
From NE. Initially waypointed pasture SW side of stile which I subsequently noticed is the spot ht location, although I thought fenceline just SE of stile slightly higher. Whatever... | RHW | 12/04/2015 |
Approach as HA. I thought the summit was near the tree in the hedgeline at ST61204 59942, as in Smudge's photo, although I got better height readings near the gate. | Chris Peart | 27/03/2015 |
Space for one car to park by the start of the path to the NE or more parking by the reservoir. Lovely stroll in the sun through Avon Wildlife Trust's Folly Farm nature reserve. There's a nice old hollow oak tree which would have made a good top but unfortunately I think the high point is somewhere in the arable land to the east so a climb over a bw fence was required. | Herbert Anchovy | 18/03/2015 |
Hilltop pasture. Took 3 Peaks path out of Stowey then deviated off for the hill. | jonglew | 29/12/2014 |
