High point accesed from NT land. Land to north is signed as private. blue bells. | cjo | 21/04/2022 |
HP appears to be on earth embankment, ancient fortifcation within mixed woodland, part of Dinton NT parkland. Free entry, parking either at small NT car park or free on road by St Mary's church. Collected huge sweet chestnuts | Denise | 18/10/2020 |
From Dinton through The Park then up through woods to summit area. High point ill defined, my vote goes for the embankment at SU00007,31898. Collected hand-fulls of large Sweet Chestnuts on the way. Not so sure that the summit is NT land though. | RichardM | 18/10/2020 |
Round of 4 Tumps from Teffont: Red Hill, The Common, Fir Hill, Dean Hill. | PGCE | 30/07/2020 |
From NE at entrance to NT property. Faint track turned to good path to top. Rhododendrons had been thinned again. HP just off path. | PeterD | 27/09/2019 |
Mostly on tracks from the NE. Rhodos are starting to grow back. | Herbert Anchovy | 03/10/2018 |
Top is within Wick Ball Camp, an ?Iron Age hillfort & a scheduled Ancient Monument. | BrianMatthews | 28/02/2017 |
The summit area has been cleared of rhodies but it doesn't make identification of the top any easier but I agree with Rob's two possible candidates. | Chris Peart | 10/06/2015 |
On circular-ish walk from Dinton. Approached from W on RoW; deviated N onto woodland track - 'Private' signs abounded. The Common is NT land so open access, but not from the S. Rhododendron everywhere, but seems there is a programme to eradicate or control it. No obvious high point. | jonglew | 16/10/2014 |
(1) bank by track; (2) bank to W at ST 99914 31952 177m5m prob lower. from ENE, S a short way then stepped path W up ridge. Park at start | RHW | 07/04/2012 |
