Logged Descriptions  (logged by 30 users)ByDate of Ascent
Another impromptu out and back, leaving Lesley waiting after some lunch and hot drinks on a sheltered grassy mound North of the Beacon. Fairly easy ascent bypassing Beacon and then finding footpath and style that continues to high point, having inputted the Grid ref from this site. Wonderful view of Colmers Hill from the Beacon on the descent to reach Lesley before we continued on our circular walk from Symondsbury via the Rock Hopper. We had a drink in the pub in Symondsbury before driving to our Airbnb in Bridport.Dazingdale12/08/2023
From the London Inn; there is no bus stop at the top of the hill so we walked up the A35 to Quarr Lane- an unpleasant start. Away from the A35 it was a very good route, the second path off Quarr Lane giving a direct line to the HP. There is now a stile almost on the ridge to the beacon, a better viewpoint, on the access land with several mown paths. A good hill but the best- Collyers Hill- to come on our walk back to Bridport. With Pete on another sunny day.pwheeler09/06/2023

A staycation break in nearby Symondsbury.. Time on my hands whilst my wife cooked supper. It’s quite a steep climb, but worth it for the views.Anthony Vosper18/05/2021

On Litton Cheney Trig Baggers weekend. Parking roadside junc A35 and minor road to Quarr Lane Farm, good pull-in for 3 cars or so. Short distance N on lane then RoW to hill top over what appear to be earthworks but are probably old grassed over quarry workings from the name of the hill. Obvious HP at OS 163m spot height, but got a higher GPS reading from field bdy approx 100m NW. ***This is now the new HP.jonglew28/03/2015
