Frosty, trig point buried in brambles | Trantham Clan | 10/02/2023 |
Bruton circular. | Smudge | 11/11/2022 |
Across a field of young cows who all trotted up to check me out and would just let me briefly touch their noses as they sniffed my hands.
Carried my Chinese takeaway plus a folding chair past them and over a gate into the next field where I could then put up the chair to eat my food while watching the setting sun. | vegibagger | 02/08/2021 |
On PROW from lay-by by the church | Swindon Bagger | 19/05/2021 |
As others, from reservoir pull-in. Visited summit and trig. | PGCE | 28/01/2021 |
open way to trig pillar, from reservoir | cjo | 27/12/2020 |
quick dash from reservoir pull in. on earth mound in grass field, trig in hedge. | Denise | 12/12/2020 |
Open field gate at E corner of field next to fenced reservoir. Levelish E-W ridge of wet pasture. Vague high point is a yukky flattened mound of manure feels hardly natural in the topographical sense. Ground at base of trig pillar is higher than ground at base of mound (Abney) Ground by gate in fence line at W end of ridge is very similar height. | RichardM | 12/12/2020 |
As part of the Leyland Trail walk. | bcronin1959 | 22/03/2020 |

5.30 am start for an hour's 'me time'
before waking up 33 'dead to the world' teenagers for another exhausting day at Mill on the Bru on our school's outdoor activities week. Walked up the road from Bruton as long grass on footpath sopping wet then, after fending off summit cows, jogged the road back passing the NT dovecote tower with holes for 200 doves, and also passed some strange modern art oddities including a large barn size pebble shape with a box sticking out. Nothing is wrong in art of course, but this must come close. | Chris Pearson | 29/06/2017 |
As jonglew - there are several possible summits in the 160m contour ring. | Chris Peart | 06/02/2015 |
From St Peter's Ch on minor road, RoW into cow pasture. Summit could be trig pillar on field boundary, or small mound in middle of field approx 90m ESE from trig. | jonglew | 27/08/2014 |
