Beautiful circular coastal and hill walk with Shirl today | Valerie | 02/12/2022 |
On Croyde- Saunton Down- Combes Farm- Napps Cliff Top- Baggy Point- Croyde Sand- Croyde walk. From Croyde car pk (£4.40 max) up and down Saunton Down, included an overgrown path that needed overtrousers for the worst section. Deviation from the RoW is strongly discouraged, notices and 3 strand BBW but fortunately the could be visited in the field with the RoW. The rest of our walk was fabulous, maybe Suton Down would have been more enjoyable had we started from Sauton. There's a bus every 30 min from Croyde. Sunny. With Pete. | pwheeler | 10/06/2022 |
En route from Saunton to Putsborough combined with a return along the coast path. Well marked ROW over sheep pasture so easy bag. | milimana | 27/02/2022 |
Parked ~40m up into Hannaburrow Lane. Good RoW most of the way up. Wandered W ~160m within the 150m contour... all quite flat up there. | jonglew | 06/11/2021 |

Run from Rudda Holiday Park, Croyde village, summit, Saunton, return via SW coastal path. | Neil Midgley | 28/06/2017 |
Started at Ruda Holiday Park headed to the village of Croyde, followed the well marked footpaths signposted Saunton Church, the final stile had a warning sign BEWARE OF BULL IN FIELD KEEP TO THE WAYMARKS which took a path right through the middle of the field!!!!. OS Summit unmarked approx 100m W of first waymark and 25m E of the fence at SS 45152 38479 , another summit 25m W of the fence at SS 45079 38494 looks just as high. | Tony Hartry | 07/07/2016 |
Wet morning indoors then brighter / sunny afternoon for 4hr circular hill and coastal walk with L from Georgeham (free car park). Up muddy b/w from Forda which christened my new boots then ripped knee on my nice powerstretch trousers getting over b/w fence to check (needlessly) possible alt. higher point. Joined the crowds at Croyde beach- many surfers -watched over by lifeguards in pick up - the norm these days on every surfing beach. They even watched us collecting stones and shells for simple arty ideas, after being inspired by simple designs seen earlier in a craft fair in Georgeham. Then coast path to Baggy Point where I had once climbed (1990s) and on to Napps Cliff Top. | Chris Pearson | 02/04/2016 |
I didn't like the signs by the footpath, but thankfully the only animals I saw were sheep. | Alancache | 14/03/2016 |
