Staying at Truleigh YH, with the sole intention of using its car park to access Edburton Hill and this Hump. Access is via the lane leading to the 'bungalow' building. Then into horse fields to the right.Minto02/07/2023

Up the track to the compound from the South Downs Wayfosal2917/11/2022
Parked at Edburton Church which is well worth a look. Up steeply to Edburton Hill and then across to Truleigh Hill. There is a hole in the first fence which gets you to the better fortified second fence. I got a reading within 1 point right against the fence so that is close enough.clivevilla06/09/2022
Lovely walk up in sunshine and clear skies. Almost spring like were it not for the cold winter breeze. Shame you cant access the triangulation pillar but hey ho. Bagged on a double header with Edburton Hillsconnolly0130/01/2022

Reclaiming a re-located Hump. Circuit of Truleigh Hill and Edburton Hill from Edburton. Chalk path on the way up slick and slippery after rain. Visited trig then managed a fairly easy bypass of the gate on the outer compound. I'm fairly sure that the high point lies within, but outside the more formidable inner compound.Colin Crawford19/10/2021
Walked up from Fishersgate station following the Sussex Border path. I'm fairly sure the ground within the fenced compound is man-made, so claim the trig point as the true top. All moot really as the head-height rule appplies for the higher ground.Richard24/04/2021
Plenty of verge parking 250m or so before YH at 218103 - Along SDW for about 1km to gates at 228106 - Through pedestrian gate & up farm track before straddling barbed wire fence by an old wooden fence post - Across to trig point & then to the high point of fence around compound; this lies about 40m E. of the summit GR & was as close as I could get. Parked at Edburton church. Edburton Hill and Truleigh Hill trig and summit (handy wooden rails beside gate to gain access).PGCE23/11/2020
Parked in the CP by the roundabout on the A283, then used the SDW to ascend. Walked past on the SDW to do Edburton Hill first. Lots of horse riding going on next to west side of compound, so went into field with caravan in on east side, which took me to the trig. From there easy to reach compound fence and walk round south and east.garyhoney21/11/2020
A new HuMP replacing Devil's Dyke. Managed to find off road parking mid-way between car park and Youth Hostel. Passed in front of YH turning left on PROW opposite Freshcombe and Summersdean Farm as far as boundary with public access land. Followed boundary east as far as radio tower then nipped to trig pillar then on to highest part of fenced boundary within which high point is supposed to reside. Ground looks to be man made but head definitely above highest point anyway.mntainman17/10/2020
A day on the South Downs enjoying the aftermath of Storm Alex. Using the SDW and the Sussex Border Path. Parked at Ditchling and set off in the rain. Ditchling Beacon - Chattri War Memorial - West Hill - Devil's Dyke - Edburton Hill - Truleigh Hill - Wolstonbury Hill - Ditchling Car park. The afternoon weather was a lot better.Buck03/10/2020
First top visited on a big long distance walk out from Brighton. Almost fully dark by this point, but really enjoyed the walk along the SDW up to here.Alex C21/09/2020
During South Downs Way East - Westtwg2719/09/2020
From Summer Down car pk (free). Did West Hill via SDW first, then up Devil's Dyke via a permissive path direct from the punch bowl, except the path I finished on was much steeper than the one shown on the 1/25K map. Over Edburton Hill, too. Walked round the compound to potential natural HPs, then ran back to Summer Down car pk. along SDW. Sunny but just over 20 degC, long views.pwheeler10/09/2020
Parked in Edburton, on elaborate detour from Cumbria to Plymouth.mae03/09/2020
Circumnavigated the compound then went in via the gates adjacent to the electricity sub station which is disguised as a dormer bungalow.jimbloomer24/08/2020
Detour from SDWlerritt22/08/2020
It seems the HP is inside the aerial compounds, accessed via a gate next to a house ( full of comms equipment) . HP ? after right angle bend to west near trees in between two aerial compounds. Ground very disturbed so Trig in horsefield to E may be highest natural point. Apparently there is a cold war bunker underneath. Ridge has spectacular views.Denise 29/08/2019
Compound with masts is higher than the trig - though does feel a little on the man-made side and may be so as it is over the 'R2 Chain Home Extra Low Station' (nuclear bunker) - now decommissioned. Double bend in the road within the compound crosses high point.RichardM29/08/2019
Long walk to Steyning from Brighton.hillbagger9114/07/2019
20 mile circular from Clayton Windmills - overcast, then sunny, generally windy.atreides788731/03/2019
Had a look at the compound then around to bag my main aim the trig then onward to Edburton Hill.Dugswell221/03/2019
Lovely walk from lay-by by Adur river. Came back via Monarchs way which avoided returning along access road the YHA. The tump while shown inside compound is just as good bagged by the trig. With Geraldine & ClodaghPete West24/02/2019
Its getting quite warm now, hope the YH sells ice-creams. Visited With Sarah.Bernard11/04/2018
Trail running from Upper Beeching up to the South Downs Way. Horrendous conditions. Full on sleet really affected my temperature regulation and ended up abandoning 3 peaks attemp in favour of two and then being picked up at Devils Dyke pub with borderline mild hypothermia.Fionalevey21/01/2018
With: solo; From Devil's Dyke via Edburton Hill. Followed South Downs Way then to Trig Point first then highest point within the utility compound.Ian Baines10/09/2017
From Devils Dyke via Edbuton Hill. Went to trig and then HP.PeterD11/05/2017
Edburton Hill and Truleigh Hill from Edburton.rhalstead01/04/2017
Climbed up from the N, parking in a lay-by at Truleigh Manor Farm. Good steep climb to the top on a rather under used footpath.DanMaisieBex04/03/2017
Southwick station - Truleigh Hill - Edburton Hill - Devil's Dyke - West Hill - Wolstonbury Hill - Ditchling Beacon - Hassocks station. Fantastic walk! Access to this hill easiest from SE, not up the track that approaches the summit from the S.Mark Jackson04/02/2017
Parked easily approximately 218 103 on road just before the YHA. Then excellent bridleway.destaylor18/01/2016

Did Trig first then went in the utility compound for the summit. Its on the road bend. The trig is not at the summit.Adrian05/07/2014
Parked in a lay-by just outside Fulking. From the South Downs Way, go up the track to the masts. At the locked gate there is a gate on the right. Go through this and walk to summit.Sprog27/08/2013
Visited whilst staying at nearby YHA on a week's tour of SE England hill and trig bagging. No public access, but owner happy for us to visit trig. Hill top broad and flat with good views N and S.jonglew11/09/2012
Walk with my old collie, Misty. Train to Shoreham, then long road walk up to South Downs ridge, walk along by Truleigh Hill. Views minimal as hard rain and fog, only clearing later in afternoon.JOHNS17/03/2012
While surveying grassland between Truleigh and Perching Hills. The field to the east of the summit was part of the survey as well as most of the land south and east of here.Herbert Anchovy29/06/2009
