In fading light and avoiding contact with gamekeeper refilling grouse feeding stations- he may have been friendly but we did not test it. Hp is at indistinct point where copse and arable field meet at an earth embankment/ hedge accessed from nearby footpaths. | Denise | 24/10/2018 |
Detour through open woodland from bridleway to the SE. Wide field margin to summit. High point on field wood fence line. Game keeper in Landrover filling grouse feeding stations. | RichardM | 24/10/2018 |
This Tump gives a good little walk, starting through Walkers Copse, through a clear strip to get through the woodland and visit the candidate HPs. Soon back on ROW that heads down to Dummer Farm before turning the farm a field away on its SE side. 3.6 km. Yes, Smudge is right the woodland/edge is managed for shooting but enough ground flora for the white admiral, silver washed fritillary and marbled white butterflies seen today in the hot sunshine. | pwheeler | 07/07/2018 |
Really enjoyed a nighttime ascent with torch off surrounded by darkness on direct line from NE across large empty harvested field. Torch on again to explore possible highpoints just inside wood. | Chris Pearson | 12/10/2016 |
Micheldever to Hatch Warren (Basingstoke). Summit bid thwarted by arrival of shooting party. | Smudge | 23/01/2016 |
