| Visited HP on a pleasant walk from Bentley Station, which included Lodge Inclosure in Alice Holt, Home Hanger, River Hill and Catham Copse on a warm sunny day with very clear views. | Easier than I feared. From south kept to west side of track alongside field edge, hidden from houses by hedge, around to NE corner high point next to the old Telegraph House. Built in 1829 as a semaphore signalling station (Sir Home Riggs Popham system) on a line from Chatley Heath, a station on the London to Portsmouth line, westwards towards Plymouth. | Chris Pearson | 20/09/2015 |
