Logged Descriptions  (logged by 11 users)ByDate of Ascent
Started walking from bridleway at heath close corner, crossed over stile then followed field edge south and up edge of strip of pheasant cover corn, up steep hanging woodland (Boosey Hanging), then down through small newly planted woodland and up to the top of the hill. At the time the hilltop was a gently sloping field planted with wildflowers. Private hill on the South Lynch Estate.freethehilltops12/05/2022
Parked in gateway to SW at SU 4045 2682. Followed field boundary N, then across field SE through a band of mature maize to wooded slope. Up beneath yew trees, then field edge to summit. Route fairly well hidden from view.PGCE12/10/2021
Pleasingly timed arrival at dusk to enable me to merge into the darkness.. Went for the fast and direct option by a series of short sprints along the open tarmac driveway linking a series of copses. Summit in field close to drive and trees containing a house.Chris Pearson05/12/2016
11.25 Not very violet, though a couple of pieces of flint in the bare field next to the cost had a hint of violet about themvegibagger11/09/2015

Parking roadside verge near Merdon Castle. South Lynch Estate, no public access. Took main entrance track for 130m (ignored CCTV cameras), then less exposed woodland tracks to within 250m of HP. After which 2 b/w fences and an arable field with a cereal crop to be negotiated. HP in field near small wooded copse.jonglew08/05/2015
